Steelies w/ Tundra brake upgrade?

OK, well there's what's going on. Toyota only produced the T100 until 1998, so you aren't looking at T100 wheels. But the Tundra's first model year was 2000, so what you are looking at are some 2000 Tundra wheels that were made in the second half of 1999.

All lines up with part diagrams as well. T100 Wheels were 15", and the Tundra wheels were 16".

 

I had 17" fj stock steelies on mine with Tundra 231 brakes. Fit was good, I had spacers on mine, never tried them with out spacers....

 

Hmmm, I'm curious if it would work. Does anyone know?

 

I went with spare 16” Steelies from the 05-Current Tacoma. Collected 5, powder coat and wrapped in 255/85-16 Maxx ST’s. But beware, you’ll need spacers on the front because of the larger caliper.

I was curious because I'll be doing the tundra brake upgrade.

 

Find some 17” steel FJ wheels and you won’t need the spacers.

 

Only problem with this is that you lose an inch of sidewall rubber for going over rocks.

 

You lose a 1/2".

 

17" fj steelies and I need spacers if not they hit sidewalls on uca.

Ive researched these numbers and I can't find any info. Anyone have a clue if they will fit the brake upgrade?

I would like to see the weight difference in this set up vs a 16 steel with a 285 85 16 on it.

 

I would hope as the FJ and 4runner brakes are larger. But the offset is the key.

Since a 2nd Gen Tacoma steel will clear the brake upgrade and LOTS of people have 17” steelies on 2nd Gen Tacoma’s and T4Rs I say try.

BUT....

I am really good and helping people spend their money and not my own.
