You probably saw @tacotim448! We have very similar rigs, both with mobtown lettering. I believe he’s down in GA

Well, the Amazon seller goofed and sent me the non greasable version, even though my invoice has the greasable. Not a huge deal, though I’m not thrilled about running sealed u joints. I emailed them and they refunded me the difference, bringing the total to $60 for all 3 u joints. Not a big deal if they only last a couple years because that’s oretty cheap.

Here’s two of my old ones. As you can see, one is way worse than the other. I suspect if I would have replaced just this one, that would have solved my vibes, but better to just do all the work at once and be done.

Not a lot of needle wear, but that one has a shit load of dirt in it.

And no needles in the cap. Like literally none. I have no idea how that happened.

Edit: and one of the caps was seized on. Had to cut it with an angle grinder.

Sealed ones aren't that bad that's what 90+% of the trucks on the market come with from the factory. They'll last 90k or so in them. The seals are usually better and don't allow as much debris into them like the greaseable ones do IMO. I really think this whole thing of people getting overly excited of their shit being greasable or not is blown way out of porportion. It's like carb vs. efi people are still in the stoneage with suspension parts though.

Rant over you'll be fine with those!

Permanently as in the next 4 yrs yes:D

I have a pretty minimal exterior modded pyrite Tacoma, probably only thing you’d recognize me on is a deep dish satoshi with “Tacoma” lettering.

Where are you stationed at? I’m up at fort Meade. If you saw me around 270 I’m guessing at Walter Reed?

If you hang out in the norther Virginia thread, we schedule meet ups to grab dinner and beer every few weeks. You should come! It’s only 20-30 min away for us

I just would have liked greasable because my miles aren’t exactly easy miles, and I’m constantly driving through nasty shit. I’m aware most come sealed from the factory, but most aren’t driving in conditions like we take our trucks through.

But like I said, only $60 for the trio so if they shit the bed prematurely, I won’t be losing sleep over it.

Yes Walter Reed. I don’t get too many free weekends with my job but I’ll keep an eye out for meetups!

My wife works there atthe hospital! She seems to like it, though parking is a bitch. We do them on week nights too, so we can try and hit everyone. I work a weird ass schedule too so if you ever want to hang or mod, let me know.

Do you like podcasts? I started listening to them on this most recent drive and it’s awesome. Doesn’t require as much attention as an audio book but helps time go by quicker. I listened to all seven 30 minute episodes of “the habitat” on Spotify today, and it was really freakin good.
