Can you imagine making sliders for that and skids haha. The frames on 80s are fully boxed and double wall on the outside wall, I cannot imagine how they made the stretch potion strong enough.

Looks like I've been recruited to change the spark plugs and a bad coil pack on a 2006 Kia Optima this Friday. It will be my first time doing plugs on a transverse V6. Any tips? I've looked at pretty much all the U-Tube videos I could find on the subject. Just wish I could find a torque spec guide for the intake plenum. There is no Kia forum thats worth a dang either.

    You’re fucked.

I helped a friend do the spark plugs on a 2000 Toyota Sienna with the traverse v6.

Wow that job sucked. Toyota wanted $600 to do the rear spark plugs because of sheer amount of labor it endures. On the Sienna you have to remove the entire intake manifold, a lot of vacuum lines, the whole shebang. That job took us three days.

    For spark plugs.

You'll get faster, it looks bad and the first time it might be bad but removing intakes on transverse engines is pretty common

I’m lucky it was on a Toyota Sienna with lots of documentation and ease of design. Couldn’t imagine doing it on a newer Ford or GM for example.

I've lived in the desert southwest and have experienced some nasty ones. It's been my experience that they can be reliably predicted. I've been living in in the norther plains now for six years and here they can pop up unexpectedly. One can go to bed with nothing on the radar and nothing on satellite only to be woken hours later by thunder, wind and pouring rain. The weird part is some of these storms are never in the forecast

Based on what Ive read/saw I dont have to remove the entire Intake manifold, just the upper half. But the gasket kit I got has the lower manifold gaskets, so I may go deeper. The shop he took it too wanted $775 to do it, I said I dont care if it takes all day, I refuse to let him pay that.

It’s doable. It’s just very tedious.

Have a friend with small hands, there’s lots of spaces you’ll have to get just by feel.

Maybe you can get to the plugs under the car?

Your neighbors must hate you. Why can't you just be normal and have three Corollas, one Celica, one HiLux and one Paseo like my Korean neighbors in So Cal?
