Just make them. 3" wide 3/16 plate and cut to shape. I think somebody on here had a set they got from JWrose4 though also.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
When I was in the Navy (many, many years ago) the largest official Naval Publication was the Dictionary of Naval Abbreviations more commonly know as the DicNaVab.

Somewhat more seriously, that thread has a bunch of builds and info at the beginning to get you up to speed.

You can set up a great rig for a couple Grand and have a great time, or you can put alot more money and work into it to wring out snoanot 10%.

The real question is: what are you building the truck for? That drives every decision you make, and every piece of gear you buy for it.

My truck, @fatfurious2 and @HomerTaco (to pick some examples with good build yhreads) are all set up for different problems. And that's without going into long travel or solid axle swaps.

It's just me, occupational hazard, I tend to overbuild. I weld them solid all around and tie them in on the bottom so I can cut back further. I tried something new on Cody's and cut reliefs in the remainder of the mount face so I could hammer it in further also and eliminate a big step from the plate to the original part. It worked pretty slick I'd still like to tinker with his some more.

The truck is my daily driver but I also want it for overlanding. I want to be able to pack up and go anywhere without having to worry about getting to places lol.

Adams truck is a great truck to emulate then. He’s got a nice set up.

Yeah I liked his set up when I saw it. Didn’t really spend enough time talking to him about everything but I definitely will when he gets back

Yeah he’s got a fridge, shower, RTT, etc. Not set up for any super crazy wheeling but he holds his own, especially for a prerunner.

210 miles (that’s accounting for tire size difference) before needing to fill up for me. :annoyed:

Adam is a good one, as is @Finch1018. Mine is similar, but add: go fast.

Next question is budget. Shop for deals and you can get alot, especially as guys upgrade to higher end parts.

Skids, sliders, lift, wheel spacers, 33s and new UCAs will get you 90% of the way there. Then add your expo gear.

    Since it’s your DD here’s my $.02:

Go with a 255 a/t tire, no need to regear from stock and like zero trimming to fit.

Go with a basic 5100/AAL lift - good ride and easy on the wallet.

    Sliders and skids for sure.

Somewhere else to put the spare tire - no one wants to fish under the truck to fix a flat out on the trail.

Get a fridge, tent (RTT is nice), and a cooking setup.

Two Jerry cans - one for fuel and one for water.

Do all that and you’ll be able to easily escape off the beaten path and go where 90% of the sheep won’t go.

Any questions feel free to hit me up.

    Nope :D

All good, 255/80/17's only noise is at full lock the ST maxx grabs the little plastic splash guard in front of the tire.
