Here is the write up I did on the cooler from Timmay @Sandman614 I'll post the screen shots of the temps from my romping it around after install but it's a good 20*+ lower temps thus far. The true test will be when those ambient temps get soaring again. I do not have any off-roading baseline temps to compare to but will monitor it to see what it does off-roading.

Installed today and I pulled some redneck enginerding because of impatience I know I'm going to take some heat for it. Let's call this Mod1

adding this inline with the stock cooler is a very good idea, but you still need to find a method of monitoring temps.
the phone dongle and app isn’t bad, but then you have to contstantly open the phone when you want to see it. myself I like the ability to just look up and see the info there always.
i have a ScanGaugeII mounted above the rear view mirror, always there always on. there are other options
it works for me, you need to figure out what works for you.

pulling 3500lb camper, 90°+ day, 65mph, and a second cooler stacked with OEM

    13.4 volts
    166° trans temp
197° coolant temp (i believe this was just after an incline on the highway as well, east bound toward the beach)
    94° intake air temp

@voz monitoring the temps is key!!!!!!

With the torque app open the phone stays live and doesn't go to sleep unless I hit the button for it to. Plus I can make several custom screens of live data and just swipe between them.

i’m not saying the apps are bad, but you have to think about it and remember t do it. with a dedicated gauge it’s there, always.
we know @voz and his absentminded ass, he’ll forget and then try and dick with it while driving with the hotel hooked up :luvya:.

besides, fucking with the phone while driving isn’t a good idea anyway. hotel or not. ( says the guy taking pix of gauges while driving down the road )

honestly, i like that i don’t have to dick with the phone to see these things. i don’t always take my phone with me ( i like to be anon at times).

i hate that the phone has become such an item of “need” for everything, it’s convenient but it’s a pain in the ass just as much.

Simple life hack, use an old phone and keep it in the truck for a dedicated torque app "gauge"

keep note of how your temps are unloaded and then upgrade the cooler and see the difference.

I gotta say, the grill cover you have on the front my be causing you some cooling issues as you've restricted air flow thru the grill somewhat, try running with out it after you see where your temps are with it installed.

I noticed a slight increase in temp when i put the light bar in the grill lower on my junk. not enough to be concerned, but it did go up a few degrees.

This is key the more crap you have on the front end restricting or altering the airflow to the radiator and other coolers can cause not only higher trans temps but coolant temps or poor A/C performance as well. Also the factory trans cooler only the top 1/4-1/3 of it is actually in the grill opening the rest is behind the solid bumper part not really getting a whole lot of air flow while moving. It is also pushed forward without any "ducting" back to the radiator so it isn't getting a whole lot of air pulled through it by the fan either.
