Just going to post this here since I know some people are looking at rekgen flaps since they're cheaper. Two major things to consider though. One is that even the smaller Rokblokz have a larger width, so thats less crap hitting your paint. Two, the way that the rek gens mount really makes them pointless IMO. They actually mount in a way that gives them less clearance than OEM. They mount with a spacer that makes them stick into the wheel well further, they actually take up more space than stock. The great thing with Rokblokz is that they mount in a way that lines them up with the cab mount. This is the only way I can see running mud flaps with negative offsets or larger tires. My 265 nittos are rubbing on OEM flaps with a 17x8.5 -10. Theres no way the Rek Gens would fit any better. I have ran a 255/80r17 ST maxx on 17x8 et0 using Rokblockz with no rubbing in the past.

Rek Gens, note that OEM flaps are flush against the fender plastics, so these actually stick into the fender toward the tire leaving less clearance.

Everyone needs to calm the fuck down. @strktly_bodysurf that was not sarcasm, I have never had Rek Gens and I was honestly curious to hear what you thought after you've had them for awhile. No need to go on the defensive. I'm sorry I said anything, didn't know that this was going to derail my thread.

    :stayontopic:

The Rokblokz mount the same way as the Rekgens on the 3rd gen

    This isn't true.
I had them before,on my 3rd gen, that's also why I included the pictures from Rokblokz site. They mount with 2 L brackets so that the bottom of the flap mounts to the the bottom of the fender area. They provide more clearance than both stock and the Rek gens.

I see what your saying, I thought that first picture of the Rek Gen was the rear flap which is mounted very similarly by RokBlokz... you are correct.

Good to hear, for a second there I was worried that you knew something I didn't, maybe they had changed their mounting method or something. That would be a problem for me.

It's slightly different now from the pictures you posted. Same general concept. Your pictures show two screws and two "L" brackets that mount the flap to the inside fender. Now they are 2 screws and only 1 "L" bracket that holds the flap which is honestly better. After my CMC, the hole the "L" bracket uses was cut off so I was able to just drill a new hole in the frame and I could continue using my RokBlokz. The RokBlokz also has marked areas you can cut away to get more clearance.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
How do these things hold up offroad? I've been prone to ripping off oems in ditches.

They are flexible so when a rock catches them they just bend backward however they are stiff enough to keep rooster tails down and off the truck

I think it’s especially important to mention a competitor product in a GB thread if it is a better deal. We are doing a GB to get the best deal possible are we not?

I think you're thinking of those mesh, megatron looking ones. I got the standard rubber ones that look identical to the Rokblokz
