I’ve seen a few people asking about the Stage system we have at Icon. So I created this:

    Tacoma Stages.jpg

    Note:
-All Kit prices are w/billet UCA’s. (Subtract $582.75 for Tubular UCA)
-All Kits with UCA options (Billet & Tubular) will be upgraded to Delta Joints by default.
-Uniballs UCA are still available upon request. Must specify when ordering a kit SKU.
-S2 Stage 1, 2, and 3 prices are in addition to stage kit price
-Rear bumpstop system available on all stage kits and price is in addition to kit SKU.

***Subject to change/update*** (I will do my best to keep this up to date)

[jonnyozero3 did one a few years ago and I reached out to him for permission to borrow his design. Thanks again jonnyozero3]

Welcome the Icon Family. We do offer a Stage 10 on the website but it is just not listing it numerically.

    http://iconvehicledynamics.com/shop...a-0-275-suspension-system-stage10-billet.html

I'll see about get that fixed on our web site. Thanks for the heads up.

I ordered and received the Stage 4 kit with the delta joint installed in the tubular UCAs. I was able to order this during Cyber Monday in Nov 2017 and saved some money from the price listed above. A friend and I installed this on my 2017 Toyota Tacoma DCSB TRD Off-Road 4x4 during one weekend. On the Tacomas, removing the UCA bolt is a little tricky. Some YouTube videos and our local 4x4 shop said to bend the inner fender seam inward to remove these bolts. I didn't want to do this to my new truck. So we decided to go to our local Toyota dealership and purchase two new UCA bolts (approx. $40). Then we proceeded to cut the old bolts off and reinsert the new bolts from the other direction. On the driver side, we had to unbolt the brake lines to remove the UCA bolt. Other than that issue, installation was simple. A month later I ordered and installed the Icon 17" Alpha rims and Toyo Open Country AT 285/70R17 all around. I've been wheeling/off-roading twice since then and I love the way my truck gets over obstacles now. I feel like I have a new truck and look forward to more off-roading adventures. Picture is what the truck looks like now. I was near Rock Springs Arizona off the I-17 freeway south of Black Canyon City, AZ.

Thanks Adrian. This is the best explanation i have seen for the various stages. Very helpful.
What do the 2.5 RR OMEGA shocks offer over the 2.5 RR CDCV?

Our CDCV Series shock offer 10 different compression damping settings. A CDCV shock on setting "4" is the same as a non-CDCV shock. So with a CDCV Series shock you are given 3 softer settings and 6 stiffer settings to accommodate your driving conditions and vehicle configurations.

Our OMEGA Series shocks offer both compression and rebound damping adjustment. Each Bypass valve has approx. 32 High Resolution settings that will give you, the end user, the ability to adjuster the damping characteristics exactly as desired.

Feel free to give me a call if you'd like more info. Happy to spread the knowledge to anyone.

Hello Icon or anyone who may know the answer, I was wondering what spring rate the Stage 4 coils are...I thought I read somewhere that they were 700lbs but I'm thinking it makes more sense if they were 650lbs. Thoughts?

Tacoma colovers are manufactured with 158504 coil springs (650lb). Most Toyota applications have an HD coil spring option (700lb). The HD coil overs for Tacoma's have the same part number prefix but end with "-700" to distinguish between the two coils.
All kit SKU's are defaulted to use 158504 springs unless otherwise specified (Tacoma Stage kits K53001 - K53010).

Currently debating between icon stage 4 and kings. Any feedback on why I should choose the icons? The biggest difference is linear progressive vs progressive, from my research.

Keep in mind that 95% of my driving is on pavement and I rarely do any highspeed runs off road. Most of my trips are on trails in utah and colorado...camping etc. Based on this alone, wouldn't a linear/progressive shock be a better application?

Ive read some mixed reviews on the pros and cons of the diff valving and street/off road chracteristics. If you could elaborate on some of the details, that would greatly help me make my decision.

    Thanks

I believe the the biggest difference will be the system components. Adjustable upper control arms will help with alignment and when fully utilized can help with tire clearance.

The Icon stage 4 would be a great option for your situation. Having a full system designed to utilize every bit of performance your truck has to offer is great piece of mind when you decide to hit the trails.

Thanks for the info Adrian, it really helped. Stage 9 took about 6 weeks for delivery but the local shop just received them, install next week. I’m really excited for the upgrade.

Hello all, this is my first post on the site. I am looking at getting a 2018 Tacoma Double Cab Long Bed Off Road soon and will be towing our camper trailer that weighs 4100 pounds dry. I will also be doing mild to moderate overlanding and off grid camping with the wife and dog. I have been looking at the various Icon stages and would appreciate some assistance and any information you can provide on which setup would be the best for what I described above. I have been thinking the stage 6 or above (for adjustability) and the hydraulic bump stops. Also, as an FYI, I am going to the Tacoma from a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Thank you in advance for your input.

Also, I will either be building some storage/drawers for the bed of the truck, or purchasing some. So there will always be about 200-300 pounds of “stuff” in the back of the truck.
