    There is a couple of off road parks in Pa within couple of hours drive north of Baltimore and in Va you have the GWNF and Jefferson Nation Forest in WVa are about a 1.5 to 2 drive from the Dc area . GreenRidge National Forest is Allegheny count here in Md which is a hour and half northwest of Gaithersburg and has great primitive camping and forest roads .

    Our state is pretty diverse - from the oldest above sea-level mountain range in the world (the Appalachian Mountains) to the Chesapeake Bay to the Atlantic Ocean.

    Our weather can range from -10 and windy in the winter to 105 in the summer - throw in a "touch" of humidity and it's fun, fun, fun. :rofl:

    As for wheeling in Maryland - you're not missing much. We are very limited as to where we explore our great outdoors. Fortunately we are a small state and our neighboring states offer better wheeling opportunities.

    I have that radio paired with the Midland 182442 antenna and it worked well. However I only used it while wheeling to keep in touch with the others.
    I haven't tried it with a more permanent/tuned antenna yet.
