    I'm with ya. Go through the proper channels, get the proper documentation, and be part of the system legally. The article tries to make it all about the son who has been deployed twice and has served our country as a citizen proudly...and good for him, thanks for serving. But maybe, just maybe he should have used his military background and/or pull, and gotten his parents properly documented. "It has also raised some fears that New York identification cards are providing undocumented immigrants with a false sense of protection from ICE — particularly on military bases". Just because you have AN ID card from a US state, they only use it for identification purposes, it does not make you a citizen.

    They're his in-laws, not his parents. He may not want them to have citizenship. I know there's been times I'd have called ICE on in-laws if they were illegal.

    In all seriousness though, people do abuse ICE. The apartment complex where I used to live had a bunch of hispanic construction workers. Boss decided he didn't want to pay them one month and had them deported. Pissed me off. They were good guys and had done the work.

    One guy I knew only rented his houses to illegals. They paid cash and if they stopped paying he called ICE instead of going through the normal eviction process which can take 6 months in my state.
