I Dumped mine at 1200-+ mil, then again at 5k, and at very 5k miles since with 0-W20 Mobile 1 synthetic.
No issues or weird noises to report yet, just that my wallet is a bit lighter, and I do keep my fingers crossed for TW fans here (he-he).

Many test have proven that you can easily go 15-20k miles between oil changes (with synthetic oil) with no appreciable or premature engine wear, so the engineers appear to be on the right track.

But I just don’t trust them as their track record leaves a lot to be desired and we always pay the price.
But that’s just me and my own opinionated anal devotion to perfection.

I do think it best for most people to stick to, and follow the recommended 10k oil service intervals, as you’ll cause less wear from starting your engine (dry) after an oil change.
It is well known that a lot of wear occurs from that first morning start and that dry start after an oil change (no oil in filter) which is why I always fill the filter with oil, even on the inverted ones like my 4.0L T4R to avoid that dreaded wear.

Just don't over think this matter whatever you decide to do, you'll be fine and just enjoy this bad boy!

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

Do whatever makes you sleep at night. If you say anything but OEM intervals you will get attacked by those claiming you are throwing money away.

I personally did my first change at 1100km and I do every 8000km as my regular change. My money my choice. That coincides with 5000mi.

Had my first at 5K then yesterday at 10K. Former long time Valvoline employee so I know a little bit about oil. Saw and felt the used oil coming out. Looked almost new. Color was not total dark black and had a nice tack and was still slick. 10K for me moving forward.
Take a look at some of the Blackstone reports here. This old timer has been converted from 3K to 5K to 10K.
And yes, I saw the bulk tanks clearly labeled 0-20 FS.

i'm going to do my first oil and filter change at 3k. Mainly just for piece of mind. after that i'll do 5k/1 year changes. my Taco isn't my primary vehicle so i will likely hit the 1 year mark before 5k...

I'm at 7,500. First oil change will be at 10k, per the manual. I will ask for a sample to send into Blackstone.

Out of curiosity, have you needed to add any oil and if so, what did you use? Thanks!

I haven't added any oil. I'm unsure if they did at the 5k check up, but the paper work didn't say. If I did, any 0w-20 will do.

ALL 0W-20 is synthetic. All oils of this specific viscosity will blend with no issues. I check my oil weekly (I put around 30K/year on my vehicles) and at 18K I have not had to add a drop. Changed at 10K intervals. Analysis was just like every other analysis posted here. Good to go.

Owned my truck for over a year. Approaching 20k miles. Changed my oil the first time at 10k and going to my second one at 20k. Absolutely no issues.

It’s already been brought up but, proven facts stand that 10k is the new norm. It’s not the 70’s anymore. If it makes ya happy do it. Simple as that.

Great to hear thanks! I'm trying to convert myself to the 10k interval (for me the 3-5k interval is so ingrained into my soul) and my main concern is going low and not noticing. Glad to hear the truck doesn't use any!

If you are trying to convert yourself then maybe just do a filter change and top off at 5k and then do a full change at 10k.
