I think its time to have my shaft rebalanced and replace all the u-joints. or.... go with a beefy one piece for about the same price. can anybody chime in on this? should I stick to a 2 piece? the one piece will be beefy as fuck. @Squeaky Penguin @jberry813 @JLee @Blackdawg

    thanks guys for the help

    Since you tagged me....

I'd stick with the 2 piece. The OEM double carden setup works good, and I've heard of issues with single piece driveshafts that long. Not to mention the loss of ground clearance, I hit my driveshaft enough as is.

Just rebuild the stock driveshaft, and have it retubed if its dented. I had the back half of mine retubed with thicker wall tubing.

A 1 piece on a double cab would be prone to getting boofed I’d think.

:gossip: The double cabs are the exact same length/wheelbase as the xtra cabs. Only difference in driveshafts would be transmission or 4x4/prerunner. So an automatic DC 4x4 has the same driveshaft as an automatic xtracab 4x4.

Also, FWIW, the manual transmission driveshaft is about an inch and half shorter, but the section from the carrier bearing back is the same on all of them.

So if the junkyard you call sells you the driveshaft for an AT when you have a MT, at least you can swap the back portion. :bananadead:

The rear portion seems to be universal but the front is different for 4cyl AT/MT too
