Sorry about the crappy pics. Been super hot and sunny out here in southern ca. Anyways..

So I’ve used chevron 89 octane for all my vehicles for years so it’s not a gas issue. I experimented with 87,89&91 but not enough of a difference to notice. So it’s not a fuel quality issue.
I drive very light to the point where semis have air blasted me going 55 on the freeway in the slow lane. Trying to squeeze as much mpg as possible. It’s not happening.

Weight wise I carry about 150 pbs of tools, I’m 230lbs and always 1/2-full tank of gas at all times so I’m not overloaded.

I don’t use ect or sport mode and I don’t race it except ONCE in a while I like to feel the power but I also notice watch the mpg drop down to 5mpg so you can see why I don’t do that very often.

I don’t like driving like a old man. I would like to enjoy the truck once in a while but I don’t know. I did own a 68gmc which got 8mpg at best so is it a truck thing and get used to it or what? My honda 2014 got sticker and this “average “ isn’t working out as advertised which I mentioned in another post?

    Any one relate?

And plz don’t post you pic showing hey bro I get 30 mpg all day towing my friends broken ford home either

Excluding towing, mine looks flatter. But then again I am in FL where the land is flatter.

    None as of yet
hills? stop lights? traffic? trying to hold a solid 55mph and not coasting? there are a lot of factors.

Resetting it that often isn’t helping.

Different driving styles = different MPG.

I reset mine every 4-5 tanks of gas. It tells me overall how my MPGs are doing.

Your truck tells you MPGs per trip when you shut it off.

I did not even notice how frequently he was resetting. That is too often.

I reset mine on the first of the month or at each end of a tow event. Usually only a handful of tows a year for me. My MPG is pretty consistent month to month. Some have better economy, others have worse, but I am heavy footed and as long as I do not get big swings month to month, and stay within a hundredth or so of Fuelly all is good.

I don't even look at it. It's going to get what it gets and there's nothing I can do about it except pull off all my mods and go back stock. Or get that ovtune thing that will take 5 years of gas savings to pay for. I didn't expect it to do as well as my Camry when I traded it in on it.

All good stuff Bros. I will reset once a month. I use about a tank a week. And ya it ain’t no eco car. I didn’t think it was a tank though either. Ugh I need to make more money or get a company gas card so I can enjoy my truck and not keep saying “ AGAIN. I just filled the fu$ker up!”

When I fill my tank the computer estimates 395 miles until empty. My tank is 21 gallons...yours is bigger I think.

When I do the math it works out to 18.8 mpg which sucks for a 4 cylinder. But I've got hills and stop and go traffic everywhere I go.

I have 21 gallon also. Funny enough the 4 cylinder was only 1mpg better in sticker but I think that’s because the trucks so heavy. And I couldn’t agreed more with HutchJ. It is 2018. This is a mid size truck not a tundra or ford HD. I should average about 21-22 with how gentle I drive. Stop and go Southern California traffic is part of the problem. I have gotten 30mpg average ONCE going 50 in the freeway with no traffic for about 40 miles. D74D917A-9996-4358-BAAA-A1DABE519306.jpg

If this was a v8 hovering at 18mpg Ave I get it but image.jpg

All of them are the same, 21.1. mine consistently says 415 to empty and that works out to about 19.5 mpg. I use a tank a week, sometimes more.

Mine stays in the 21-22 mpg range, which I am pleased with.

I track mine using Fuelly which shows 19.2 actual mpg. Only had the truck since October, but I was around 17-18 mpg in the winter, and now I'm 21-22 mpg in the summer time. I only use 87.

I checked mine on the way to work this morning. There is nothing for best just -- anyone know any that might be? I've only got about 1200 miles on so far.

Also my mpg has never been above 18 for a trip and the current tank is 15, most have been 15 - 16.5.

Yea...I have my info center set for trip mpg and trip miles......the app screen shows me the Avg MPG for the “overall” truck performance...It is a good idea not to update it every tank because of overall driving conditions......I usually reset mine when I take a long trip so I can get a glimpse of overall performance.....After about 5 or 10 fill-ups, I will update....but i am a steady conservative driver and mine shows ~22.8mpg.....all round driving MPGs....trip meter and miles is more important to me and my driving habits....
