Same thing. He was pointing out rolling away is dangerous, more so than frame rust. Catching on ?

Lol. You caught my fat finger. Whatever logic keeps you comfortable buying sub par products because of a false perception of reality.

Some people argue a point just to argue without logic involved.

Just like when Toyota had to pay 1.2 billion dollars for the “unintentional acceleration” they covered up lol

    That's ridiculous.
How did they cover it up ? They employed NASA to investigate it.

Yeah. My wife had a 200 as a rental and was absolutely frustrated by the shift control. How could they get it so right so long ago with the push buttons and get it so wrong now?

There are only two things I can't tolerate: People that are intolerant of other auto makers. And Chrysler.

That dial scares me. Range Rover/Jaguar have a similar dial, I've never heard of any problems from them. Honda and their push button BS, GM also has push button controls on some vehicles. I also dislike BMW's shift lever.

There was nothing wrong with the mechanical linkage to the coloum, or console design.

Pretty sure anyone here could drive the Tacoma better and stomp the jeep. I have NEVER been anywhere with the jeeps I ride with and not able to do the exact same trails.

Yeah. Column / console shifts are generally fool-proof (generally). Given that all AT are electronically controlled, I can see a reason to get away from levers. It just seems that no one is designing them properly.

Regardless, I'm a row-your-boat fan. If there is a goof up, I know who to blame!

That's one benefit of a manual transmission you don't need to read the owners manual to get in gear.

I would like to see an across the board design from automanufaturers where it comes to smart key placement.

Too Right. Thankfully, the MT Tacos come with a standard damn key!

No surprise there. The Tundra is a great truck. It has decent low-end torque for a gas engine and it has a solid transmission (smooth shifting, good shift points, holds a gear when it needs to). Loads of interior space and it's an easy highway driver.

With that said, it's a dang heavy truck. With a curb weight of almost 5700lbs, it weighs over 1200lbs more than a Tacoma. Even with 381hp/401lb-ft, it's relatively sluggish off the line and less than fun to drive in the city going from stoplight to stoplight.

And the MPG. Everyone complains about the MPG. I averaged 13.9mpg in mine, even with a lot of highway driving mixed in.

Wow this turned into a shit show of Toyota bashing. What are the haters even doing here if you don't like Toyotas? Sell, move along to another forum and be happy.

I want the Tundra 5.7L V8 in my Tacoma. Now that would be sweet.

They did use an Off Road, I really didn't like that they used the price point because they made mods to the Jeep.
