Just to be sure, the new Tritton V6's will work with this adaptor just like the V3's correct?

I am working on this as we speak. Do I need to cut this adapter to get into the wires?

This is where I am confused. How do I connect the stock harness to Triton? Do I cut the wire on Triton to expose the acual wiring?

Errr typo. I meant to type V6's(newest model). Which is what these adapters were designed for. Although the v3's(discontinued) should fit as well.
When I ordered my V6's, I opted out of a connector because it will have to retrofitted hardwired anyway. They supplied me with a pigtail that had 3 bare wires. Different than your pic

I got you. That is the mistake I made than. I just went to their website and you can select hardwire and I selected 7440. I should than be able to cut the wire and splice into three wires.

Probably just cut there and I should see those three wires. What you guys think?

What do I need to get this completed? Besides the wire splicing, is there any other modification I need to do to the housing?

I’m sitting here with second set of taillights, v6 Tritons, a set of @portlandTaco’s adapters from Sculpteo (printed like a @mesojdm product) trying to decide if this is all I want to do or if there is more to be done here. The ‘18s are already black inside, so no need there. Only reason to open would be other changes like the horseshoe led, lenses change, etc. and I don’t have that and haven’t formulated anything that would be more than an led grid or just straight up red led bulb replacement.
I do have the parts for making a harness adapter to convert this from factory to my final, so I’m thinking about just starting that process...

I am just waiting for Triton adapters to come
In on Tuesday. I didnt want to cut wires on Triton bulbs so I went on their website and ordered 12 inch extensions which were $5 each so I will just cut there to expose the wires.

You will need step drill and plastic epoxy as well.

Started to tinker and came across problem #1: @portlandTaco adapters don’t take into account the thickness of the screwheads on the V6s. So they won’t work without removing a lot of material in the channel or grinding away the heads. I’m thinking of set screws will probably work (would need to find some size/length. Problem #2: I’m not sure about the final depth needed to spot the v6 correctly. @mesojdm do you have any thoughts on these issues? I know you commented abou needing the right depth. Which holes did you use in the V6s? Do your adapters accommodate the v6 screws? What should be the protrusion depth?

I use the shorter stainless screws that come with the trittons. 3 per light (in a triangle pattern). There is even a ramp on the inside to help the screwhead lock in and seat. The bulb protrusion is perfect, I try and cover all bases when I design something.

So need some help from the brain-trust... TaT install.

I am not a big fan of cutting/splicing/etc the factory wiring harness bits and I was contemplating making a jumper and was curious if anyone could help me out in thinking about what parts would be necessary... thinking I just need the below and some male spades to go into the original plug?

    Replacement Plug / Pigtails-

I have found the sockets for the tails but dont see why that would be any better... thoughts?

What you need to go totally splice free is two sets of male connections for all three (upper C, lower C, Bottom) and two sets of female just for the C (upper C, lower C). You don’t need the lower as that is where the V6 is. These are available both original Toyota and aftermarket. The numbers for female are usually one digit from the male. Once I’m done with mine I plan to do a simple how-to to make this more of an afternoon project (two beer).

EDIT: Corrected accidental swap of male/female connection description.

    Question.
I am and have been running 6 ohm resistors for a while now. I usually drive with atleast parking lights/fog lights on during normal driving. I never have any blinker issues. Now, I did just notice if i turn the lights off my blinkers don't even blink. I have two resistors left, would it be bad to run them in sequence? I've been having an issue finding a 9 or 10 ohm resistor.

In series, they become additive (R1+R2), so you are making a 12 ohm resistor. I’m pretty sure others have gone that high. Can’t say if it will solve your issues though.
