That reminds me, I should probably put my stock skid back. It's been so long I forgot where I put the hardware. I took it off during my 4WD swap to put the front differential in and never put it back.

 

The hardware? It’s like 5 bolts.

 

Your's is in worse shap than my old stock one...

 

Good thing I don’t drive in dirt.

 

Looks about like mine. I swapped them out for something better.

My trucks so messed up sooo it doesn’t matter anyway

 

Turned the truck off today after driving it around and noticed a hissing sound like an air leak and found a suspect hose, its definitely coming from the back of the engine. Its not the best of photos. Im taking it it is a vacuum hose


As far as replacing vacuum lines...Ive never done it, can one just simply remove and replace and thats it?

 

Purchased a scan gauge for the old yota today. Looking forward to seeing a actual water temp and not 240 from a wrong aftermarket gauge.

 

I have what I think is a permanent solution finally. If it works how I think it will then I'll make a write up/share it

 

Do you know for sure it is that line?

Possible. Thats the cam vent to the intake tube. Goes the the bigish plastic piece off the main intake tube. Mine was cracked pretty back. Not a standard size hose though so need to us a toyota one and its not a cheap hose by any means.

 

The reason I ask is I did the same thing, turned the truck off and heard a hissing sound for a few seconds. I thought is was a vacuum line also. Yours may be a hose but mine turned out to be the brake booster. The brake booster collects vacuum in a rubber bag type thing and mine had developed a hole.
