There's an SVRA outside San Luis Obispo in Oceano that's on the beach. It's an off-road park and you can camp on the beach.

How is wheeling in sand compared to your traditional trail? I'm thinking of making the trip down there and spending the night.

Sand is it's own thing entirely, don't get @Sperrunner buried.

Even with zero experience he has a 100% better chance at getting unstuck. I've buried two wheel drive vehicles before, once you get up the the axle it's snatch strap time. I'd bring along a good snath strap so you guys can keep each other afloat on the soft stuff haha.

I don't plan on going to the beach SVRA for the first time, haha. There's a couple SVRA's around the Bay Area that's your traditional dirt and trail based vehicle recreational area.

I'm planning this camping trip with some friends, haven't been in years. The beach SVRA is the only campsite left in the state with reservations, basically. Their limit is 1,000 campsites.

I'm just imagining how bad that is for the frame and underbody.

They aren't as vulnerable as Tacomas, fully boxed frame with double wall outer wall, real Toyota frame, remember these are all built in the Araco plant in Toyota City, Japan. The quality is on another level. You wouldn't want to say park there for hours or do that everyday for a year but no biggie if you do it every now and again.

Jeez now I'm looking at roof top tents that I can't afford.

This truck is a goddamn black hole that sucks in all your money.

Honestly that sounds like fun. I wouldn't mind camping a day or two.

Now to find money somewhere for an RTT...

I don't camp on the ground like plebeians.
