This is from some guy called Chuck Adams....must be a deal in the archery world or sumthin'

"I know several dozen bowhunters who achieve such “archer’s minute of angle accuracy,”

Of course they do. I've read the term in Archery magazines, heard it at Lancaster Archery, Archery Talk, Bowsite, etc.... Is the term misused? Maybe, maybe not.

I'd rather see some dead critters, your rig, hear some tips and pointers. You're living in a bowhunters paradise!! Reality is, I am probably never going to get to Alaska to hunt. So I have to do it thru those that can. Let's see some pics. Share some of your adventures.

As soon as I stick something up here I'll post it. Did an archery only hunt last week but all of the caribou were outside the zone. Hopefully manage an archery caribou, moose and maybe black bear this year.

Hunted/range shot with a Bear Grizzly recurve for years but recently upgraded to a PSE Bruteforce Lite compound with more power/range for bigger animals up here.

Apologize if I came off like a dick.

You didn’t, some people just prefer to be clearer and more tactical than others, the bottom line is we are all in a very unique brotherhood others are missing out on!

well I think I'll be good with my single pin sight, I had my peep moved up about 1/8" and I was almost stacking them at 20yds, but I also havent shot much so after a few rounds I had to quit. I did hit the target at 60 with some wind in the backyard so I was actually impressed with myself;) Im going to try finish sighting in tomorrow if I can. One thing I noticed is the tapes go up to 80yds but if my target is 60yds how is that going to be on at 80? Just asking for my gain.

I still haven't even put the distance tape on my single pin. I just have blue painters tape on it marking 20, 30, and 40 yards LOL!

But, this actually works just fine for me, besides I really don't like the distance tape my sight came with. The numbers are to small to be useful and so are the marks on it. It's got an kinda an burnt white background with black letters. It's very confusing, would be hell if the light wasn't right outside.

I think I'm going to just get some dots or something and use that instead of the tape. I feel like everything I do with my bow is against the rules, but I just do what works for me. I'm hitting the target, so I guess I'm doing something right though. I do think I need some stiffer arrows though. Running 400 @ 60 pounds. Right at the border for 350. I feel my arrows flex to much though. I probably need to shut up and just shoot more really haha!

What's your draw length, arrow length and tip weight. I shot Easton Axis 400's for years at 60-62# and 29"lg, with zero issues. When I got my Hoyt Hyperforce this spring, it shot the 400's OK, but according to Easton's chart, I'm underspined. I started shooting my Carbon Express Red Maxima's 250, which is a stiffer shaft. Arrow flight is much better and broadheads are right with my field tips.

I think more people do more damage to them selves listening to the opinionated input from others instead of doing like you and though trial and error, learn what works for your conditions your style and your set up. Yes the basics are absolutely necessary and we do have rules that we have to follow , but just the basics. Beyond that, it is all individual shooter.

If there’s one thing I have learned as I have gotten deeper into the bow world, is just how much aggressive opinion is being pushed and sold to people in the bow world!

29" Draw, 29.75" arrow length, and 100gr tip.

I agree with you about the stiff shafts. I have a few Easton Bowfire's (came with my bow for free) that are 350 with 100gr tips and I really like how they fly vs what I'm using (Victory Vforce 400). The Easton's are to short for broadheads though and can only be used for practice. I know shorter length also affects the arrow and in theory makes them stiffer. But, I love how they fly and was thinking of going to 350 or 330 arrow at my correct length.

The further I go out, the more I'm noticing what my arrows are really doing, if that makes sense? I'm at 40 yards now and it seems my Vforce arrows are a bit to loose vs when I shoot those bowfire's. It may just be in my head, but seem to be more accurate, especially when I push my bow, when I shoot those bowfires.

What are you guys using for broadheads? Right now I have fixed 100gr Muzzy 3 blade 1 3/16” on my 340 29.5” shafts it gives a total arrow weight of 411grs and shoots pretty well. I used to use Zwickey traditionals on the recurve and never experimented with anything else. There’s a ton of fancy fixed and mechanical broadheads out there to sort through and I don’t really know anything about them.

I use the G5 strikers with the replaceable blades. I personally have had really good flight characteristics in the different atmosphere and wind conditions I have put it in.

true, Ive seen some weird stuff in the close to 9yrs of my bow experience. Some say use the walmart cheapo broadheads....they flew like crap for me and I lost a couple deer because of it when I first started. Im on Muzzy 3 blade 100gr now. They work ok, I may switch to some G5, Ive heard some good stuff on here and other forums about them.

Looking at Easton's chart your 330's or 340's are fine. If the Victory 400's are comparable in spine to Easton 400's, they are definitely on the light side. And shooting at 40 yards would show spine issues that may not show up at 20 or 25. Screwing on broadheads can exacerbate the situation because in effect, it lenghtens your arrow, decreasing your spine.
