Question. Do you take your truck to a dealership for service or some other place? Lately I've been wondering if there is a hidden service that Toyota performs where they check the foam filter and replace as needed. Tried asking the service advisers at my local dealership, but they are dumb as rocks. Just wondering anyone has ever had their foam filter replaced by a dealership under service. I would think they should at least start checking the filter at about 3 years; judging by how long it takes that kind of foam to break down.

I didn't questions my MGM choice until I just saw this picture. Great looking truck!! Did you trade for the limited wheels? Ive been thinking of getting rid of mine when i lift it, but they look so good on your set up.

yeah, the Spruces are beautiful trucks. Wish I had see them before getting silver. My wife hates the truck's color because she says silver is hard to see on the road. I told her "The truck is 6 feet tall and 15 feet long; so I'm pretty sure it's not invisible". BUT, the green is a great color and so is MGM.

Never trust the stealership, most (not all) techs are basically just punching a clock. They are not professionals and do the bare minimum.

Do the $15 mod and save yourself down the road.

I must have missed something but this mod is all of a sudden spreading like wildfire.
I've never heard of this- how long did this take you to do?

I did it on my truck shortly after buying, Including opening the hood and the filter package it took all of 15 min.

Nothing fancy but always done on time. I rotated my tires yesterday. I'm a firm believer in every 3500 miles :crapstorm:

I rotate at oil change every 5k its good to have the wheels off and inspect brakes and what not every now and then.

Time will be the judge, Motor will probably last in the bow tie. But it will nickle and dime the hell out of you when all the bells and whistles start to fail. I've driven GM my hole life, class A discount. Finally got tired of their backwards ass engineering and lack of attention to detail. I am certain their engineering departments do not work closely enough together. Gm just evolves, they very rarely innovate. (Corvette excluded)

I need tires as the ones that are on it are shot. Would like to do wheels too but not sure if i'll have the budget for that.

Any recommendations on wheel and tire combos would be low budget?

I did this to a car I had..... I live in az and the heat melted the silencing material off. Then the headliner sagged but this is because I didn't have a garage or shaded place to park. Hope it goes well but if I ever do this again I would spray. Looks good!
