Got a call yesterday that my bumper and rack were ready to pick up from powder coat so after work I pulled the front bumper and tapped and cleaned all the holes. Went and bought new hardware as well since I didn’t really want to put in 21 year old bolts. I also noticed under my battery tray that battery acid had leaked and was causing the paint to peel up so I wire wheeled and painted the area with a rattle can since I could care less about how the engine bay looks. 4FD932DB-A7BC-4F1D-B903-D253D59643FD.jpg

Then today on my way to work someone in a rental truck decided to cut me off then go halfway into the shoulder and kick up a bunch of rocks which then cracked my windshield. Safelite will be coming tomorrow to hopefully repair it. I can’t catch a damn break.

Might also want to replace the fan clutch as well since you're already there. Adds an extra 85 bones to the parts list but IMO worth doing.

I don't know about failing but will say at 155k my original was starting to freewheel a bit. Didn't have that customary roar at startup either. Swapped it out and definitely can hear/notice a difference. I can't remember where I saw it but I do recall someone else on here mention changing it out with water pump. Anyway, up to you. Just wanted to throw it out there.

Tim has some info on checking out the fan clutch.

I plan on doing the WP, TB, valve cover gasket and champion radiator all at once sometime in the future. Should be a big endeavor, kinda putting it all off....

Had to bleed my brakes late last night. A month back when I put in my SS brake lines up front, I accidentally reused my old banjo bolts not realizing the kit came with new ones that allowed more fluid to pass through. So I unbolted each caliper line last night and swapped them....in my naïveté I didn't realize that would mean that I'd then need to bleed the system and I nearly flew out of my driveway without any brakes when I went to move my truck lol. Good thing my e-brake isn't totally useless.

Weird thing is though, this morning I've got a gnarly creaking sound coming from my front suspension/passenger side when it goes up/down...dunno why that would have anything to do with me working on my brake lines but I'm wondering if maybe some brake fluid spilled onto a bushing and corroded it some. Since it was so late and I was trying to bleed each wheel before bed, it did get a little messy. I sprayed some white lithium grease over the UCA and LCA bushings and the lower heims on my Kings and the noise went away, so I'm not sure which one was the culprit. Hoping I didn't ruin one of the bushings though.

White looks good. I’ve been debating what color to paint my 5-lug for a while. Is that an OEM Toyota white, or something else? I noticed the 4Runner mirrors are a little off.

replaced my O2 sensors today. Spent the day chipping away at the rusty nuts with a cold chisel. My hands are sore now.... but my p0141 is gone now yay!

The worst thing was that there is no room to work, especially for the front sensor

I wish it worked like that. By the time I consider the cost of wear and rear on the truck and fuel when I drive out and back to Boise, pay for food and lodging for a couple days while they do the work... I'm right back in a similar price range.

Glad to hear you're doing it yourself. I think you'll have fun!

    That sucks.

I’m actually in the process of transferring the good bedsides from my existing bed to a donor bed that has a non-rusty deck on it. It’s really not that bad, just a lot of spot weld drilling and plug welding.

    have you checked rockauto?

won't harm the truck, but it will give you crappy MPG over time

I found corner lights, I didn't even realize I posted that, I deleted it on my end then refreshed the page but I guess it posted anyway. Currently averaging 20.5 mpg which seems to be better than most that I have talked to.
