I will also be posting pics from all the various (mis)adventures I have with my Tacoma from here on out. My "Aspergers" thread will be exclusively for the discussion of past, present, and future experiences as a young adult with AS, among other things...

The wheels are 16-inch; I'll have to get back to you on the tires...

If you installed over $20000 in upgrades you should have your truck appraised accordingly. This will raise you premiums and make the insurance companies pay you what its worth.

why would you want all those repairs to pop up on a carfax? good thing they totaled it! Don't accept their 1st or 2nd offer for your trucks value when they call, always room to come up in $$$ with a toyota. Do your homework and make them pay you what the truck is worth.

I wouldn't even consider buying or fixing a salvage 5 lug like that regardless if there's no frame damage. The costs of repairs will end up more than buying one with a clean title and with horrible resale value due to the salvage title. That's the lowest tacoma model you can buy. Heck, it doesn't even have power windows so there may not even be a/c.. I can see why it is considered totaled. If that was a crew cab OR or sport model, I would consider it.

Just glanced through the pics...I had a similar fender bender on my front end that was worse than that vehicle. The fact the drivers side fender wall is not straight says to me the front portion of the frame where the crumple zone is likely tweaked enough that not only is the light assembly area bent, but the fender wall is too. My fender wall and light portion were in similar damage and I ended up getting the front portion of a used Tacoma frame to be welded in this area to rectify this. That isn't too hard to get since many dealers have stashes of older tacoma frames that are cut in half due to frame replacements for the second gens.

Moving to the back end of the bed...I wish they were more honest in their picture orientation, but from the angle it looks like the wheel is pushed all the way back to the wheelwell portion of the bed. I know the bed is obviously toast on the drivers side, but for it to be crumpled and have the tire relocated back further says your rear frame is very likely in BAD shape. Considering what it has going on, I wouldn't be surprised if a new frame would be in order just due to the rear alone. Then if you go onto the body work there is a decent amount of stuff that is easier to just replace then spending forever trying to unkink it.

Im not adjuster by any means, but I would let that sucker go fast.

The locks on the bathrooms doors at the gym are confusing...

    This is "locked"...

    image.jpg

    This is "unlocked"...

    image.jpg

I thought I'd locked it, so when someone knocked on the door while I was taking a dump, I thought nothing of it and didn't answer (though I did unintentionally cough rather loudly). The person then proceeded to open the door and I screamed "HEY!" They shut door quickly and backed off. I locked the door and one more person tried open it without knocking...

    :annoyed:

My cousin's sister-in-law turned 21 yesterday and she's having her birthday party tomorrow night...

She wanted to have her party at my place of employment, so yours truly pulled some strings and got her and her friends the upper level patio for the latter part of the night!

Here’s my thing: that place is a bunch of rentals so she doesn’t likely own the place. Combine that with the fact that she probably deals with some absolute shit show behaviors from the Mannechor (closes 3AM!), Dtown Brewing company and the 20 other businesses oriented towards 12 year olds (daytime) and drunks (nightime). Now she doesn’t get a pass because she chose that location but I have to assume it would grate her nerves after a while. She didn’t single you out, I bet she’s just at the end of her rope. I’d let it go and focus on the real douchebags of Doylestown, Lord knows there’s enough of them. FYI saw you last week by MoMs on your phone.
