I was typing as you posted, i just meant MY U-joints didn't whine......now my truck does in fact have a whine though. I suspect front diff. needle bearing.
It finally started a beating sound at high speed, should be able to find it easier now by sight if I pull the CV. Hell, could be the CV. I dunno. the pain of an old vehicle I guess. You have to enjoy finding problems, they're never new again.

Any outcome to this issue? My 2014 sounds to be making the same squeal.

Same boat, I have a very slight vibration in steering wheel and humming noise between 30-40 mph then goes away for the last 50,000 miles, Dealer can’t find out what it is, says it’s not the wheel bearings as there is no play in them and I have no carrier bearing on a reg cab, still stumped

Still have it, dealer inspected the front bearings and said they were ok, so don’t know.

Have you taken off your front driveshaft to see if it might be in there?

Mmm no, it does it in 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive, in gear, out of gear, with Acceleration and while coasting, does it going around the corner, does it going straight, does it All the freaking all the time,
And now my ignition key buzzes like a little bee at those specific mph from vibration

frt. driveshaft spins all the time no matter what mode too though.

I took off my frt. and it def. got rid of my high spd. vibe.
Looking at maybe the needle next. That's all that's left w/o thinking about pinion.

I did pull my driveshafts one at a time to find the vibe, changed 1 rear u joint (had a bind at full tilt) and vibe was still there so pulled front. Even though everything seemed fine ON the vehicle both joints on frt. D.S. have a bind (again, only at full tilt) in them. New ones coming now.

The remaining hum at low spd. is all that's left to chase down. My hum is different though that it's ONLY below 20 mph. More of a shrill hum than a vibe.

I changed my wheel bearings first thinking like most 4WD's, they needed it every 150K or so.
    Wasted money, they were fine.

EDIT: Guess what I'm trying to stress here is that if you have a vibe, take the d.shafts down and ANY bind whatsoever in them, even out of the range of motion, makes them suspect. I also was pretty good about greasing mine. Not EVERY oil change but I always saw grease come out.....well, that doesn't mean they were getting grease all the way around. There were dry spots. Those needles wore.

EDIT 2: I think the only way to make sure grease gets around every cup is to periodically take the U-joints aprt and spin the caps 180°

I just bought rear ujoints a week ago, maybe I will get front ones too,
I’m still on my original ujoints at 568,000 miles and was going to replace them just because of my miles.

so finally got the noise fixed. it was my driveline carrier bearing that was worn. also it had damaged the ujoint just aft of the bearing from the bearing being worn down too far. both ujoint and carrier bearing replaced. vibrations and noise gone. dealership fixed it under warrantt.

I drive a 2016 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I have the same squeak, it is heard in the rear of the truck mostly when coasting between 15 and 30 mph. I replicated the noise infront of the service manager but the technitions could not find any issues after looking at the truck for a week and a half. They told me the technitions checked everything on the bottom of the truck. I am going to set up an appointment to show a technition how to replicate the noise so maybe they can find out what's wrong.
