285/70/17 PSI?

Hello,
Does anyone know the psi of 285/75/17 KO2’s? I just went to Discount Tire and put 38 on all 4 but I feel it like it bounces a lot..

 

My 285/70/17 Ridge Grapplers are set at 35/36 PSI all the way around, and feel great.

 

I’d personally chalk test the tires if I was you. There are enough variances in truck weight where you’ll benefit from a test specific to your vehicle.
Not to mention fore/aft differences in pressure.

Ply and weight make a big difference.

My 285 70 17 8 ply duratrac is 40psi front 38psi rear COLD
Although it is smoother at lower PSI chalk test put this PSI as my most even wear and it seems to help my MPG a little better because before I did the chalk test and ran 35psi all around I was getting worse MPG.

I had never heard this chalk test but sounds the best... any idea of PSI to start the chalk test? you can use those big chalk from any store right?

285/70/17 falken Wildpeak AT3 C rated

I did the chalk test and my result were: 36psi front driver 35psi front passenger, 29psi for the rears.

However, I also have a 100 pound steel front bumper, about a 100 pounds of skids, another 100 in sliders, and about 80 for the supercharger.

The heftier you are, the more PSI you'll need for even tire wear. I wish there were a one size fits all answer, but unfortunately getting out there with the chalk is the best way to check.

 

Your tires probably picked up some dirt. Check to see if the dirt accumulates all the way to the shoulder (see bottom of tire in pic). That’s a good eyeball until you got chalk heck I only do that. Lower psi till it goes all the way to the shoulder.

I run 36 all the way around with cooper adventurers. The rides really smooth. Probably could air down more but I think it’s preference.
