Looking to buy some window deflectors. What are the best brand and should I go with in channel mounts or the outside stick on mounted ones?

+1 on the in channel style. Much cleaner look IMO.

The ones I have are made by Lund. I like them very much. :)

in channel, i have the weathertechs and like them.
there are a number of threads, here are some
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-tacomas/95081-channel-versus-regular-rain-guards.html
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/95174-side-window-deflectors.html
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/94079-best-looking-vent-visors.html

The weathertechs go all the way down to the window sill. I am beginning to think this increases that amount of blind spot compared to the ones that stop at the mirror plate.
Nevertheless, I stil like them a heck of a lot more (in channel) than the stick ons

Use the factory in channel Weathertecs. That's what I have and I like them. The double sided tape sucks though, so you will have to add some of your own.

I am thinking about getting some also. I am going with the weathertech in channels. I just need to see what they would look like on a access cab. Do I really need the whole set or just the fronts? Sorry to thread jack, I have only seen pics with double cabs.

I said it before and I'll say it again...

EGR in channel visors are much nicer than the weathertechs, and $30-$50 cheaper.

I have the weathertechs and the EGRs. The EGRs look better, fit the channel better, are more solid, and function better.

The reason I had to get the EGRs is because the in channel plastic on one of the front windows cracked on the weathertechs after about two months of use, I emailed them multiple times and never got a single responce. The tape on the rear visors also sucked. The front bottom section on the front windows of the weather techs are sharp and even with the tape on them they ate through the rubber on the window seal where they sit. The EGR is designed much better and sat firmly ontop of it (not going across it like the weathertech) and doesn't rub at all.

Other problems with the weather techs were the first set was scratched up to hell on arrival and the second set was better but still not perfect, and they were in the factory packaging.

I have the in channel weather techs and I love them. Look much cleaner than the stick ons and super easy to install. I have DC and had no problems getting the rear ones to stay. Great product!!

The AVS ones are great, and didn't cost a fortune either.

You can see some pics of mine with just the front installed in the thread below:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/85065-finally-joined-tacoma-family.html

I've since added the rear visors as well (they are 100% just for looks) and I think it looks more symmetrical with the back visors. I'll take updated photos tomorrow if you'd like to see them with the back visors installed as well.

Second that on the AVS. I have Weathertech on my Scion and they work great also. Both are in channel...

I would also like to see them!

I have had Weathertechs on 3 different vehicles and never had a single complaint/problem with them. On one occasion (actually on the Taco) they sent me rear deflects for the DC when I ordered for an AC but they sent replacements out immediately and even let me keep the DC ones - I have since sent them to another TW'er.. Can't remember who though and I think I owe him about a $4 refund on the shipping, haha.

Thanks for the pics and that would be great if you could take a pic with the visors on the access cab windows. Great looking truck too, I would go with the gray if I was in the market for a new one!

Thank you very much! You just sold me on the access cab visors. Definitely for looks... and worth it! Now to try and find them for lower than $115 for the set of four.

In-channel EGR's. Had the Vent-Visor external-mounts on my last Toy; they were on there for 15 yrs with no probs. This time I went with the in-channel. I would def go with the in-channel again, sleeker, easy install, very narrow, easily removable should that be necessary. Got mine from autoanything.com , great deal! Did the research (here and other sites) and I am very happy with my choice.
