I'm having problems with using the 'shark fin' antenna on the roof. I have the adapter cable from Vais but I keep getting an antenna error. When I use the magnetic antenna from Sirius everything works. Is it possible the factory missed the connections during assembly? I also wonder if I can take my Taco in under warranty for this.

    Thanks.

I am using the adapter from tss-radio.com and it works great. Your antenna may be defective.

    Driver's side kick panel.

I forgot to add this is the second adapter cable so I'm thinking the roof antenna is disconnected.

Anyone ever take the headliner off?

i would take it back to the dealership so that if anything get messed up in the process of the headliner removal, etc, it's on them. under warranty anyways.

Thats what I'm thinking as well. The shark fin antenna is supposed to be pre-wired from the factory. All I'm doing is plugging into an existing connector.

I have an email out to VAIS...I'll wait for them first.

My only concern is that the dealership won't address the issue, as the VAIS "wiring" is not an OEM wire.

Has anyone had any luck with the dealership trouble shooting the antennae when the receiver/wiring is not an OEM product?

I purchased a Vais cable and plugged it into the plug in the driver's kick panel. It worked like a champ when connected to my Roady II XM receiver.

Nobody has had an issue except me, that's why I'm thinking they forgot to hook something up on the assembly line.
