Im gonna start jerking people along. Pretend to be desparate and agree and tell them I'll meet them someplace. Then just delay as long as i can telling them im running late or something until they get frustrated and give up. I'm an asshole but I don't like lowballing.

Finally fixed my wife's 4Runner's weird idle issues.

    Things that would happen:

    • idle at 500 - 1200RPM's (sporadic) warmed up or not. Manual says 500-700 is where it should be.
    • When ac clutch engaged it would idle up to 1200-1500rpms, then drop to 500, then back to 1200, then to 700, then to 500, etc, etc. Never stayed steady with AC running.
    • When at WOT at the top of the RPM's the engine would shudder and loose power. Felt like an engine mount going bad or something but only at high rpms.
    • No CEL's.

I cleaned the throttle body and turned out the gasket that connects the two was crushed and didn't make a very good seal. Went to Toyota, got a new one for $5, no more issues. Everything is running smooth as fuck now, idle is always 500-700rpms no matter what. No vibrations at high RPM's. The new gasket is about double the thickness of the old gasket. Took it out for a test drive, 25 miles not one single issue.

    She better put out tonight.

I was going to say it sounded like a vacuum issue. Glad it was something simple. Hope she puts out.

Hah I got the same shit when I sold my CBR. Sport bikes seem to attract the worst kind of mouth-breathing retardation.

I think I have told the story either on here or to some of you guys in person, but the guy tried to haggle me down over it not having had an oil change because it had been stored for 8 months and missed most of the riding season.

I pretty much strong-armed him into dropping that shit and got him to meet my ask but then he wanted to change the oil before riding it.

Against my better judgment I let the dipstick come back and do it in my driveway. He’s already paid me so I’m just like whatever. He’s taking the fairing off and I tell him that the two sides of the fairing clip together on the bottom. He gives me this dull, uncomprehending gaze and proceeds to bend down and snap the clips in half.

    “Sorry” he says to me.o_O

I chuckle and say “ain’t my fuckin’ bike anymore buddy, no apologies needed.”
