I thought I would inquire at my local dealer about ordering a 2019 TRD Pro. He told me that you cannot order at TRD Pro. That's not my understanding reading here in TW, at least for 2017 and 2018. What is the experience "ordering" TRD Pros for the member here. I'd like to see what the truth is. I assume the salesman is just trying to get rid of his stock.

You can order anything you want. The only thing I would take as truth is you can’t start ordering yet due to time of year.

I think he said find a different dealership who will explain things better than just telling you no.

Don’t think you can start “ordering” 19’s till next month? Usually August is when it starts right?

    Save your money man. Seriously.

You can buy an Off-Road Double Cab for a ton less, put Kings on it, and upgrade other stuff and still save money.

That's my experience as well (I've had 5 Toyota pick-ups, 2 ordered). Unfortunately, this is the largest dealership in NM.

Seriously though, this. You’re paying extra for a suspension you’re going to swap anyway

If I’m not mistaken there is no “ordering” especially with the pros. It’s all about allocation. You can basically put a deposit down on a truck and when they receive it will be dedicated to you. Their stock is based on what each dealer will be allocated. But of course they can dealer trade within their region and they can request that certain additionals be added/deleted from the manufacturer. I may be wrong though but it is what I’ve gathered over the years of reading others frustrations of not being able to “order” specifics

I ordered my 17 sport in August of 16

I ordered what I wanted, and that took one of the dealerships allocated spots. When yota factory was producing the color and truck model I wanted, it fills that dealerships allocated spot. And in 2016 you could order a pro, there was an ordered one that came on the same truck as mine did.

Like I said, I could have been wrong just thought most of of it came down to whether the dealer would be allocated that specific vehicle or not.

Seems like OP is just getting yanked around then

Depends on where you are geographically. The black DCSB OR with tech package and leather seats I wanted is $40,500 (base 4x4, v6, automatic OR $36,500) and most dealers wouldn’t budge far from that. Best offer I got was $38,500. I paid $43,500 for my Pro. How much was your KING setup?

And doesn’t the OP have an OR currently? I think he would know the cost of upgrading. But I’m interested? How much do you think a 3” King setup go for w/ labor?

Try going to the largest dealership in your area and ask to put down deposit and entered on waiting list. I know the dealership I bought from does this a year in advance because the demand is high.
But Longo Toyota is the biggest Toyota dealership in the nation, so it may be different in NM.

Can’t you say the same thing about the OR? Had I bought one I would have swapped first thing. Since I bought a Pro, I won’t be swapping in first 2-3 years. When I do, I can sell for north of $1k unlike the $50-100 you’ll get for OR.

Interested, how much was your suspension upgrade that you used from the savings in OR?

Snorkel is an option, and probably a pricey one. You’ll see more of them on OR in 2019 than Pros. Contrary to your comment.

Don’t see why someone would invest in it, it’s not even for water submersion. Don’t see someone spending that much on it who’s getting an OR:D

The TRD’s come with more than just suspension. You have the grille, head unit, in sports the hood and in OR’s the fender flares and the locker. Definitely worth the extra $$$ Fromm SR5 to TRD.

The TRD Pro is literally the biggest scam ever:D

    TRD OR: $33,000 + $3000 suspension = $36,000
    TRD Pro: $43,000 + $3000 suspension - $1000 old suspension = $45,000

The Pro is still $9000 more expensive for no added performance. That’s a lot of money for vinyl graphics, limited paint availability for that year and leather seats.

Doesnt it get an additional 1" of lift over the 18 pro? Some people might be less prone to swap if they're getting a proper lift stock now.
