If you aren't in a RZR with a flat bill hat on, you aren't cool.

No matter what you say Rzr's are a crazy good time. When you're not fixing them of course.

Lexus was great, very smooth driving with 4 people and the rear packed. We had 5 going over Imogene. The Fox setup rides great, even though I’m still not sure I would spend that kind of cash on them. Gas mileage was okay. It did great on Imogene, it’s almost as if people are watching and waiting for you to do damage. I tapped my rear bumper once but it was probably my fault, my wife wanted off the mountain.

Ok, so I’ve mentioned before that I’m looking to upgrade from 265/70/r17 tires to a 33” tire. And since most of you seem to have a fair amount of off road experience which of these tires do you think would be my best bet for solid highway/street and occasional off road performance? I’m trying hard to stay away from E rated LT tires for the excess weight (my gas mileage already sucks) and because I drive downtown to work everyday and let’s face it, roads around Cincy suck donkey dick. I’d like to keep my ride as similar to how it is now on my C rated BFG KO2s. Anyway, I was originally set on sticking to the KO2s because I’ve had a great experience with mine so far (going on 25k miles right now and tread wear and noise level have both been great). But I found these new(ish) Nitto Ridge Grapplers that come in 33” sizes and a C load rating. Here are the three tires I’m considering:

    306E7E07-608B-4730-9361-0224FC504175.jpg 08B42224-F1C1-4E08-B2D4-24D8E23DD9D8.jpg DF0986FA-F21D-4A3C-A8A1-4904E25C4A84.jpg

I don’t really want to go to a 285 but with the C load rating I’ll definitely consider it. I’m just trying to avoid doing a ton of trimming but I realize I’ll likely have to do some rubber shaving and a CMC to fit all of the above options. Especially if I want to start taking the truck off road!

My $0.02 is consider a 255/75r17 also. If you’re 90% pavement and a daily driver a 4 ply all terrain like the Cooper AT3 is perfect in my opinion. You get the height but not the width that usually causes rubbing and they weigh less (around 40lbs) so you stop quicker and take off faster.

I drive from Milford to W. 8th daily and having a pot hole absorbing tire is key

I’ve looked at 255/80/r17 tires but can’t find any that I trust to last or be worth a crap and I’ve seen some sub par reviews on the brands I’m not familiar with. Also, a lot of them only come in load range E which seems to defeat the purpose of going thinner to save on weight. Besides, I’ll be honest, I don’t really want anything thinner than a 265 and I want something that looks like an off road tire but isn’t loud on the highway. The aggressive tread pattern and the sidewall design are what attracted me to the KO2s in the first place. I’ve accepted the loss in MPGs by going to larger C rated LT tires from stock and if I can keep things from getting too much worse I’ll be perfectly content. Plus, I’d like to start doing more non pavement driving very soon!

Bummer. That would be my go to for occasional offroad.

You may boy want the weight, but is worth the sidewall strength offroad. Amiright @MedlinAround ? He's blown out 3 sidewalls since April on c rated I believe
