The tech at firestone is getting to know me pretty well(gotta make good use of that lifetime aligment ;)...I installed the SPC arms yesterday and went in today for an alignment. He was able to get it dialed in exactly numbers i asked him for. Truck drives great

Yeah the vent mount looked like it would be a bit too close to the steering wheel for my big gorrila knuckles. I never use the CD player anyways, so it seemed a logical choice. It does bounce around a bit though going over bumps, and just FYI I had to take a dremel to the bottom of it to widen the channel enough for my charging cord (USB-C) to fit comfortablely in my phone while in the mount. But works great now.

I see guys posting these all the time, and I'm not trying to be a smartass, but is it just literally impossible to have the numbers match on both sides?

I can give you a short answer. Roads in general crest in the center. Like a hill. If the numbers are exactly the same then the vehicle would naturally go towards the ditch. I questioned this 40 years ago in alignment class.

Cool, yea, the vent version is definitely not as easy to get on/off either.

Most of them bounce and require a little mod to make them perfect.

Luckily these holders are not crazy expensive.

Another good brand is iOttie. I have one of theirs too.

No prob. How do you like the visibility through them? I used amber acrylic on my build, yours was the smoked so I was curious on the output.

Something I've wondered about those grills. Does it reduce airflow across your radiator? It seems like it would act like a screen since the lattice structure is so tight. On the plus side it probably catches more of the bugs :p

Light output is perfect. Installed higher output LED's so they match everything pretty close.

No problems with grill so far.

    Thanks for the lesson Steve.

So if both sides are not symmetric then it fights itself and that causes it to track better?

    Kinda sorta....

    <<<Alignment Tech

You try to "adjust" for road crown so that the vehicle actually pushes to the left a little bit. You can do this with a little additional caster or camber on the right front, preferably caster as it will not wear tires like camber. Sometimes you have to do it with camber because you run out of caster to play with, pretty common on lifted vehicles.

Had one on mine for a few. Make sure you seal all of the holes in the tubes. Mine started pouring rust after about 2 months. Yeah sure I live in Washington state, but the rust was aweful.

    Good Luck with yours.
