The Ranger and Colorado look so european in styling. I think its ironic that the only company putting out an american-styled midsized truck is Japanese.

The rounded front ends of the Ranger and Colorado look more like SUV designs than the traditional squared look of trucks.

Even with the upcoming Ranger, I still anticipate the Tacoma being the sales leader amongst the group.

The new Ranger looks like a modern truck, where as the new Tacoma looks like a heavily face lifted 2nd gen, which is both good and bad. Depending on how much you like the 2nd gen, and Toyota's current styling.

I've never been a Ford fan, for various reasons. I have always like the looks of their trucks as far back as I can remember.

I've always liked the Ranger, but when compared to a Toyota compact the Toyota has always come ahead in my book.

10 speeds? That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

Taurus styling? I think the Taurus looks good for what it is.

Right now I like the new Ranger over the 3rd gen. Might just be the new girl in the class factor. She's different, looks good, and I haven't heard about all of her problems yet.

I like boring interiors especially on a truck. I only care about ergonomic, and ease of use.

I think the Ranger looks a little better than the Hilux. I'm not a fan of over styling and the Tacoma to me is more busy and aggressive than them all. The problem with the Hilux is the long swept headlights, like an aging movie star with the corners of their eyes pulled tight after a facelift. The Ranger is more conservative and has lower bed sides, not trying to be so stylish. I keep vehicles until their wheels falls off so I find that things that are fashionable tend not hold up over time and eventually look dated.

Not sure if you know but the Tacoma 6 speed has gotten terrible reviews by a lot of people here (I personally dont mind) and the 10 speed that ford/GM use has gotten great reviews from everyone I have read or spoken to.

Seems Nissan is going for the same look as well. I get that they all are trying for better MPGs but damn they are ugly trucks.

That front end is easily the most boring in the segment.

I think the Ranger will do well but it’s not for me. Far to boring. I could see a stripped down base model being a good value for a work truck though.

I haven't looked into anything Ford or GM perhaps if I was ever considering a full-size pick up. I'm not usually interested in their products.

For some reason I was thinking Toyota was using an 8 speed auto. I have read about people not liking the new auto.

10 speed sounds like a lot of gears to shift through, if it works and does a good job. Good for Ford.

I absolutely hate the front end but I really hope they bring some interesting engines to the segment to make Toyota do something neat.

My 13 is paid off and I'm thinking about buying a second so I can do some more crazy mods to it.

The Ranger will likely compete for fleet sales against the Colorado.

Looks good to me, I've always liked the more world-market look of the Hilux over the Tacoma as well.

Maybe I'm biased but..I cant see myself looking at any of the other midsizes, now the ranger included, just based off looks alone.
The ranger is still just an ugly ranger.
No possible way of regretting getting into my tacoma.

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
The Ridgline gets this honor by a landslide.

I was thinking of holding off my Tacoma upgrade to see how that Ranger looked/performed... Now I'm glad I got my Taco. :D

Wouldn't GM do itself a favor, as far as market share bragging rights go. By eliminating one brand or the other?
Merge Chevrolet and GMC into GM truck division. Which I think is what their medium duty trucks are referred to.

Problem is that it's Chevy vs GM fanboys that would be angry about losing their brand. They also differentiate the two brands by making the Canyon more "refined" with the denali stuff..
