That's my grin when riding mine. They are a blast. Even cruising the neighborhood.

How hard is tilting the rack down when loaded? And have you played with the add-on to expand it to four bikes - what does that do to how solid it all feels? I love that it's alloy, and am going back and forth between this and Recon, which is not alloy, but well made, local to me, and easy to tilt, but a bear to install/remove because it's so beefy.

Day by day I improve the components one by one on my Old 2009 Stumpy. (new bikes are way too expensive !!)

2009 Specialized stumpjumper FSR Elite, still running like a beast

    Upgrade so far :

    - Renthal fatbar lite handlebar
    - Raceface Atlas stem 50mm
    - Odi hansolo grips
    - Raceface NarrowWide Single chainring 32T
    - Shimano XT M8000 front brake (broke my avid elixir)
    - Shimano Icetech Rotor 180mm front
    - Nukeproof Neutron pedals
    - Maxxis High Roller II front tire

The fastest bike you can ride is the one you're most comfortable on. Nice job breathing life into your trusty old steed.
Suggestion: get a dropper post. They're a revelation and completely change the way you ride.

Is the wandering bite point issue gone with the 4 pots? I loved almost everything about the M8000, but that inconsistency was ridiculous, I had to swap them out.

Anyone have any experience with the Kona Honzo AL/DR?

I’ve heard mainly great thing and can get the 2018 model at a good discount price at my LBS (msrp $1,699.00 I pay $1,350) so might pull the trigger.

I live in Florida so nothing to crazy trial wise—not enough to really justify full suspension for someone on a budget.

When it comes to bicycles, if you can get what you really want at a price you are happy with, I say go for it. not many things better for body or mind than a bike ride.

I haven’t had a chance to use these yet but I’ve seen great reviews on the new 8020. From what I understand it’s the same quad piston body as the Zee (just updated) which is what I run on my downhill bike and have had great success!
