Hondo Garage's New Thing

A question for all the lucky ones to receive there camper, is it possible to easily cut the piano hinge (with a strong blade) and just remove the side panels to gain access to the bed? Not trying to be negative, just concerned about security. I carry a lot of gear in my bed.

 

I'd be open to that. I have no problem putting 10% and paying full at production.

 

I was thinking something like a Home Depot retractable utility knife. I will probably go with no windows for the same reason and add the anytime rear camera mod.

 

I got grey/silver panels with orange space frame.

Just spoke to Graeme on the phone. Mine is getting installed on Friday early afternoon as he heads to San Diego. Planning on a meet and greet at a yet undecided brewery in SD on Saturday. When we figure out the time and location it will post up here!

We had a cnc machine go down last week. Had to play a bit of catch up. But T nuts, Rack mounts, and awning mounts will be shipping this week.

 

Get a mini mhammock used in boats for fruit/etc. Find your local chandelier at the marina.

Im with the others in waiting. One good thing would be more accessories and what not out by the time the platform is ready for my truck

 

Haha yeah a lot of constant refreshing of both this thread and their Instagram for me these last 6 months... it will be worth it though! Getting mine tomorrow!

 

Here's to hoping that is #46-50 this week. Would mean they are ahead of my quoted date.

I'm #58 and was quoted 8/13 as build date.

@slowboater how long ago did they finalize color choices etc. with you? I'm number 54 and have not yet gotten "the call".

Feel like we've gone on the zip lining adventure, eaten some chocolate covered strawberries , and now I'm standing by some phony ass fountain while all the other girls get their roses.

@smelly621 I'm number 42. Build was scheduled for this week.

Got the first notification about it last week.

Got confirmation of my choices and that the build started on Tuesday. Email said to wait for further updates as things progress.

Would the GFC be compatible with this group buy foxwing awning? I'm a little concerned that the rear panel would get in the way and cause chafing. I know that GFC has a solution for the side mount. Would this work for the rear panel? It looks likes it opens a little more past horizontal.
