Ordering a 2019 TRD Pro

OP- Get your pro. It’s worth every single overpriced penny. The OR Trim is great. The Pro is greater. It’s a fact....you can tell by the amount of shit talk that is so readily volunteered here.

Call all dealers and tell them exactly what you want. Keep calling in a further radius until you get a dealer that gives you what you want instead of reasons why they can’t (it’s true, you can’t order one though). I had to call about 8 dealers before I got one that was helpful. By the time the truck arrived, I had dealers calling me trying to sell me a Pro. If you put in some time and effort, you should have no problem getting a Pro. Good luck.

$3k give or take under $4k including control arms and rear springs. At least for when I did it.

 

but hey if you can afford it then get a pro. Has a ton of feature but performance wise its not much. I would have gotten one if it was around back in 2013 and I could swing it.

 

If the PRO is or isn’t allowed to be ordered still wouldn’t matter at this point in time, the fact is it’s still too early. It’s the same thing to go into a dealer now trying to order a ‘19 as it would be asking to put a deposit on a 2022 model year...even if the salesman knows or doesn’t know if a PRO can be custom ordered or not, wouldn’t make a difference. I would try again when any other ‘19 trim could be ordered.

 

I paid 42,000 out the door. 18 trd sport dcsb with tech package. Heated leather seats jbl Audio sunroof.

 

The pros headlight and tail lights are sweet looking but I couldn’t find a pro anywhere so I settled for the sport

Wrong, I just paid 33,800 for my DCLB OR which is more expensive then the DCSB. Add 2k for premium and it’s 35,800, less if you buy a short bed. The price difference in CA between an OR with premium and Pro is close to 10k.

I don’t have any interest in modding mine to better then a Pro, just saying your math was way off.

 

I think the badge is like $40.

 

My math isn’t off. I bought a Pro for 43,500 (not one dollar over MSRP) and lowest Black DCSB OR with premium package from the 15 dealers I dealt with in So Cal was $38,500 (msrp $41,000). Congrats on the deal though! I know what I paid, but thanks. Pics to back up my math.

I’ll take your word, but you’re basically stating you got a DCLB for less than invoice. That won’t happen anywhere near where I live, because the dealer would lose money.

 

One of my favorite features. I’ve seen a couple guys on here pull the bezels from OR or Sport and paint black, but I don’t know how involved that is.

 

Read people read....
BASE package OR. People are comparing cost of a base and manual OR. If you read my posts you’ll see that I’m comparing costs of Pro to a comparable OR w/ tech package ($41,000 msrp).

 

I’m still trying to figure why my Pro came to California with chrome steps. Not a bit of chrome anywhere on the truck and some computer or someone with no taste goes and puts chrome steps on it.

 

Interested, how much did all your upgrades like lift, lighting, armor, etc cost? Including labor.

 

I have ordered two Tacomas since 1999, so it it possible. I'm just contacting all the dealers in NM and CO. That's hundreds of "allocations". That's my strategy. My main thing is to get rid of the AT Tacoma I have now.

Good luck with your Pro. Hopefully I’ll be in NM next year for the balloon fiesta thing. I was invited but missed it this year.

 

As for upgrading, if it is stock (i.e. all the Pro accessories) they are warrantied for the life of the warranty, including extended warranties. I have a number of accessories on the OR and they are all 1 year if that. Something else to consider if you intend to keep your vehicle more than a year or two. I've always kept mine through the power train warranty, until this AT Tacoma, and transmission I'm through with.

 

The Balloon Fiesta is pretty cool, and we have some good southern Rockies and desert wheeling in NM. Bring you Taco. I'm from CA originally (San Diego and the Bay Area), but retired to NM.

 

And again, the warranty in stock parts is much better than virtually anything aftermarket.
