Less than five months old, the pros out weigh the cons, but here's my review. Other than these below, I am happy daily driving the truck.

    1) No power seats (TRD Off-Road trim)
    2) GPS doesn't stay maximized when in use, and the split home screen really annoys me. I've tried all settings, which doesn't even have ONE home screen function. Who knows how to fix this?
    3) Knock, or kick when the truck slows to stop light as if the tranny forgot I was slowing down.
    4) Roof gaskets come loose, and seems the fit has design flaws.

I think he is referring to the moldings on top that cover the seams/holes for the roof rack.

I would never have thought that would be an issue.

    What a fun truck!
This must be a recent development, or a result of the latest software update because it hasn't always been this way. SUPER annoying though.

I have a 2017 and mine has always been this way since the day I drove it home. So it wasn't like this before a software update for some folks?

    4) I agree with getting the roof rack to eliminate the weather stripping issue. I had the same issue but he roof rack fixes it perfectly. I recommend you install it yourself it is very simple and follow a good you tube video and throw a little extra silicone sealant on the bolt gaskets to make the best seal.

    2) For the GPS you have to go in to the settings from the home screen when you are not using he navigation. There is a bunch of preferences 1 screen or split screen and then if you choose split screen what you want to have on the split. It should not revert back unless you click on something on the map that will Call up more detail on the split screen.

    3) the transmission issues are rather common, every one seemed to have some issues with the tranny since it is electronically controlled with gas mileage in mind it behaves differently than what we would conventionally think. There is a thread here in the gen 3 forums that talks about 2 common solutions the first is a TSB for reflashing the ECU the second is a check on the transmission/drive line fluids/greasing.

#1 is a big PRO for me. I hated powered seats in my previous cars. I'm too impatient, I guess.
#4 - Mine does the same. You could silicone it.

For #2 Make sure that when you go to Settings, and General that "Auto Change to Home Screen" is not checked. This setting, when checked, will automatically revert to the home screen after a period of time. If that doesn't fix it, I am not sure what is happening. My 2018 does not do that.

For #4: I recently found that the rubber gasket on the driver's side is quite loose. I have thought about taking it back to the dealership since it is still quite new and asking them to fix it and check for rust issues that may have been caused by it.

I would love to have the home screen just be the navigation. It seems weird to only have 2 or 3 function splits only.

On my unit if it's in split mode with audio and NAV, all I have to do is touch the NAV side and it makes it full screen. It stays like that until I change it to something else. Same goes for the audio of I touch the audio side.

The weather stripping started to come loose on my 2014 Tundra too (rear driver's side). It just barely started to peel up on one end. I put some thin double-sided 3M tape under it and it held it down fine. I was a little extra careful with the weather stripping when I washed the truck.

I saw a newer Tundra pull out of a carwash with half of the weather stripping peeled off (rear passenger side), flapping around as they drove off.

Hasn't been an issue on my Tacoma yet, but it's still new.

My local car wash does this 99% of the time, which brought the stripping to my attention. It's flaps like a fish out of water during the drying phase; easy fix though as my daughter just runs out and puts it back every time while we dry it. lol.

I will go do this right now, and update you on #2.

#4 I will have the dealer handle it, since they have a vested interest on the vehicle, and my 5k service is coming up.

    I disagree. That's a financially bogus solution.
