This started happening two days ago. Pull into a parking spot, shift into park, let off the break, truck rolls a tiny bit to settle into Park and I get this. Shifter clicks into a new place. Theres also a pretty audible 'clink' sound when standing outside of the truck. I've also put it park on a real flat spot (truck off, no roll) went to the back and pushed a bit and got the 'clink' again. Doesn't matter if it rolls FWD or REV. Same clink sound. I've been pulling the E brake until I get this sorted. Any ideas would be appreciated. Not that I think its relevant but I do have the 1.04 OVTune. Thanks

Mine does it if I shift to park without being at a complete stop.
    Normal.
    Sounds sketchy for sure.

I have never heard that from the shifter on my truck. Does sound like you should take it to the dealer to have it looked at.

Mine does it once in a while. I usually put my foot on the brake, come to a complete stop the shift in to park, then apply parking brake, then let my foot off the brake pedal.... same but in reverse after I start it.

I’ve done that when prematurity shifting impatiently just as the car is “about to start” then it’s in gear but didn’t start, anyone experience that? I then have to put foot on the brake, start again and shift to what I want...could this harm my transmission? Along the lines of what some have mentioned in this thread...

I heard your video and it sounds like it’s popping into gear when “it wants” at the right sweet spot or timing...sort’ve odd, dealer time dude...this can prematurely wear your transmission if it’s doing something funky.

I'm going to do some trouble shooting. I'll report back if I find anything or solve this. Thanks for the input.

Mine does it too. But not as bad. I’ll put it in park and the car will roll forward about an inch an then pop into park. I always just thought it was normal but I could be severely wrong. Does anyone else’s move at all or is it suppose to be solid?

Mine never did that before. It's a recent development. That's why I'm concerned

Mine might, but I use the parking brake so I don't stress the parking pawl.

    Use your parking brake people!

Tranny mount going soft? It's clear the parking pawl is taking the load of the car still, but something is moving. Does the shifter move in the same direction regardless of which way the truck settles?

That's a good question. If I recall it does but I'm not 100%. I'll pay attention to that. I will be using the parking brake every time now.

You should still get dealer to look at it. At least to have a record of your complaint if the tranny falls out of it.

Yes absolutely. Looks like it's easy to replicate every time and I have personally never seen an AT do this ever.

Mine does this too. I always use parking brake. I haven't worried bout it, seems like a normal movement as the linkage finds its sweet spot. But I could be wrong. Let us know what you find.

Using the Parking all the time now. I'm not going to lose sleep over it. My 35k maintenance is coming up. I'll bring it up but wont have them tear into it. I'll report back with any findings.

So I did some trouble shooting today. Mine is not nearlyyyy as bad as the one in the video. But it pops very slightly. Doesn’t matter if coming from reverse or drive and only does it about 1 out of every 10 times parking it. My guess is that it is just rolling to try and find that sweet spot. My 15k Maintenence is coming up and I’m going to bring it up to actually see if it’s harming anything.

My thoughts exactly, and this is also as you let go of the brake pedal and the vehicle kinda rocks back n forth once when not using the E-brake right? Even worse when doing it on an incline without using the ebrake? If so, mine does this too and my original guess is the same as @RangerComa where it “settles” into its “sweet spot” which is exactly right when the “rocking” motion (without use of ebrake) halts very soon after if not immediately...
