That's a horrible alignment even with stock UCA.

    Try another shop.

So with my new Dick Cepek 255/85/16, would you guys say an alignment is needed? Worth it?

I don't see why you wouldn't. Cheap enough and they may be able to push your caster forward to help avoid minor rubbing on the mudflap.

Read the entire 72 pages of thread, and didnt find the answer....maybe someone can help.

I would like to run the Icon Rebound 17x8.5 wheels 0 offset with the 255/80r17 Cooper ST Maxx tires on a stock 18 CCSB Taco Sport. It looks like the tires will sit on the wheel well...so what would I have to trim or do to make them fit? Should I pick a different wheel?

8.5" is very wide for a 255. Honestly 7" is best and 8" is pushing it.

    Nice thread here.

I'm looking for something that isn't winter specific but does well in the snowy/slush crap we get in the Mid Atlantic.

I read through several threads citing the Ridge Grapplers as a good-enough tire, but they are only 17s.

I'm wanting to go with pizza cutters on my OR with stock wheels, with a good reputation for rain/snow/slush and without going full winter.

I do have some bad experiences with tires on another 4x4s, and I guess I never found a good compromise tire. The stock tires aren't horrible, but I'm open to recommendations.

Hi Everyone, new member to tacomaworld. I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad with Stealth Custom Ray 10's 16 inch. Without searching through this entire forum (I have looked for 30 minutes here already) what is the tallest, skinniest, lightest weight tire I can buy for my truck with these wheels? I have stock suspension, no lift, and don't want the tires to rub, and I don't want to cut into anything. I know the Ray 10's are a bit wider than stock. Thanks all!

I managed correct the rubbing I had with my KM2s on fox 2.5s with Dirt King UCAs. I simply had an alignment done and set my Caster to 3. I also adjusted my coilovers to add 1" of additional preload from the stock setting.

Just had my St Maxx installed today on my TRD Off Road. Tire shop guy suggested I install 1 inch spacers or consider a different rim to widen the stance for stability. Have you had any issues? Tires look awesome!

I did notice I’m making some more corrections on the highway, the way it follows the road but have yet to feel any instability. I put a lift on shortly after and the first alignment I got had my caster out of whack and it followed the road poorly and pulled to the right pretty good, got that fixed at a different shop and all is right with the world again.

I don’t know if wheel spacers would change anything or if that’s just a characteristic of the tall skinny tire. The second alignment shop recommended running at 40psi to stiffen the sidewall for increased stability on the highway.

I'm interested to know how much of a difference the weight of the three 16" options might make. The DC extreme country are 50lbs, bfg km2s 55lbs, and Cooper st max are 58lbs.

My first choice would be km2s because of BFG's reputation, I've ran only 285/70r17 ko2s on my other trucks since they came out and they've been awesome and never left me with a flat on the trial.

I was curious about the difference myself. Those three tires also have different overall diameter as well. Would be nice if you could try out each set for a few days and see the difference before you buy.

Personally, I’ve had issues with BFG muds in the past on trucks when they got down below 40% tread. I know they’ve changed since then and have great reviews but I’m stuck in my ways and hold grudges.

No rubbing yet... Just had them installed today, no issues with the factory TPMS sensors being swapped over.
Theses tires are louder, I mean it's something you notice but it hasnt bothered me yet though.

Had 255/85R16 Cooper ST Maxx installed on my TRD Pro with SPC UCAs, stock TRD Pro wheels, and got a lot of rubbing. Running 3.1/3.2 degs caster. I had to chop the body mount and trim/apply heat to the wheel well plastics, which mostly resolved the rubbing. I'm still thinking about getting a new alignment with more caster, when I have time. Definitely a case of YMMV from truck to truck for this tire size.
