Yeah I hear what you're saying there, but they spend a lot of marketing dollars to promote brand differentiation between the two. A Silverado is the everyday workhorse while the Sierra is bold yet refined. You should definitely take the aggregate of GM's sales when comparing to Ford and Ram.

On the heels of news concerning the new Ford Ranger, Chevrolet just released teaser photos of an updated Colorado! I couldn’t resist!

I agree with both of these statements and they are very true.

I always liked the GMC variant over the Chevrolet. I think because it was GM's dedicated Truck brand.

Personally I find the multiple brands of the same model under one manufacturer rather redundant. I can't be the only one, considering the extinction of Pontiac, Olds, Mercury, and Plymouth.

I could see the need for the multiple brands back in the muscle car era. When you could get brand exclusive engines and other meaningful options that some of the other horses of a different name offered.

It is a lot of gears but what they do is basically jump multiple gears seamlessly so you dont really notice. They and GM put a lot of money into it to make it work.

It kind of makes sense, of the 3 only the Tacoma is exclusively sold in North America. While they certainly made changes for the American market, both the Colorado and ranger were availible overseas before they came here for the current gen.

Fanboy nonsense. My brother's 2010 Explorer (now has 120k), Mom's 2013 Explorer and Dad's 2014 Raptor have all been flawless. I had a 2001 Ranger with the 4.0L V6 in High School/College and it was a champ, besides the idler pulley needing replaced it ran 180k before it got replaced with a Taco simply because I had always wanted one.

If only. They do factory snorkels and bull bars down under. But all the truck manufacturers do. Toyota dealers in Australia can set you up with a dual batteries, a tray, bull bar and snorkel.

With that being said they have had their issues. Had a Fiesta which had one of the worst transmissions i've ever experienced. People who think the 6spd on the Tacoma is bad don't have a clue what a bad transmission is like.

@Pine State Ford’s transmission issues with its late model Focus have been so terrible my company stopped ordering the Focus as its fleet vehicle. That says a lot.

Yeah, both the Focus and Fiesta had a POS dual clutch. Nothing like thinking something just exploded underneath your car because your transmission makes so much noise trying to figure out which gear it wants to be in

Glad your family has had great luck with Ford's. But generally speaking, Ford's suck. Fixed Or Repaired Daily (FORD). I'm fine with having one as a fleet vehicle since it will get replaced in 3-5 years, but never as my personal.

Maybe of old the Ford of old. F150 still commands a good resale value and just look at the Expedition and Excursion, those are 100-200k vehicles easy. I'm on Tacoma number 6 and will remain a Toyota guy but Ford today is not the Ford of yesteryear. GM on the other hand...

And look what model is Toyota's least reliable...

Consumer reports is garbage. I bet you most of that unreliability is because of Entune. Thats right, they include infotainment and Nav in those rankings. They actually rank the Tacoma down because it is too truck like. too truck like

I'd like to have that option here, I recall the online LC70 brochure bullbar, snorkel, ute tray. Nothing I really need, but want.
