Quick question or 2 for those that are more knowledgeable than I am on this stuff. I'm trying to decide the order for my next mods and when to shell out for them; right now I'm looking at tires & sliders to get some protection and clearance. So my questions are
1. Which would provide a better benefit? New larger tires or a lift? Tires I'm thinking about are 255/85/16 ST MAXXs & no idea on a lift but I saw these posted on the CL thread which seem like a good price.

2. Is there any real noticeable difference in sliders from different companies? I'm comparing SOS & Mobtown (gotta show some East Coast love) at the moment, bolt-ons. I can see some of the differences but, not really sure what they would equate to in real world situations. I can tell that Mobtown went the over-engineered route, design & materials, which I can respect but their price & lead time show for that. A nice bonus would be to be able to get them made to maybe around 15deg so my GF can use them easier as a step but, idk if either offer custom angles options like that (Mobtown makes theirs @ 20 & SOS didn't say.

Any guidance or suggestions would be great

Tires will actually lift your axles higher whereas suspension will not. No idea how much wheeling you plan to do but suspension for me is more about handling weight and being comfy.

 

The struggle is real right now. Just under 24 hrs until vacation and losing motivation to get shit done at work.

 

Tires first.

As far as sliders honestly they are all good and all work. Really it's up to you if you want bolt is weld on(strength is the same with either, don't let idiots tell you otherwise). Really it's whos got the best price including shipping.

 

This was my thinking too which is why I was looking at tires>suspension first. I'm hoping to keep getting out wheeling but it isn't the sole purpose of the truck so the stock OR suspension will do plenty for now.

leaning towards bolt-on for convience & it seems like more companies are going with bolts vs welding for the 3g options I've looked at. Yeah that shipping part is going to be interesting depending on how much I'll maybe make a road trip out of it and pick them up.

SOS standard is 15° but Eddy can do whatever angle you want, except negative. I doubt he will ever do that again for someone... I am pretty sure he will be having a sale coming up as well for 5 years in business, so follow SOS on IG and keep an eye out, I'll guess 20% off. If you want the SOS sliders order them day 1 of the sale. Basically is a "first come, first serve" type deal. Last sale he had the lead time went from 8 weeks at the beginning to almost 14 weeks by the end due to the amount of orders

 

I do love my SOS sliders. weld and steel quality is top notch.
