Go to a reputable local performance shop.

They will be able to help you with this very quickly.

I had my truck for 4,700 miles before I did. Had them install a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler and new black exhaust tip...welded on and painted the connecting piping black. Clean install....very appealing look to me. The sound is EXACTLY what I was wanting.

All it took on my end was to go by their earlier in the week and make some decisions & scheduled the appointment. Total cost was under $250.

I'd also looked at the various bolt on d-i-y kits that were more expensive and would involve me having to crawl around under the truck and get it done.....still recovering from disc surgery so that wasn't a good option.

Quick, easy, clean, quality and I'm very happy.

    Good luck.

@DubfromGA any pics of it to share? What did you have before the upgrade?

Yup....let me dig around for the pics.

It was a new 3rd Gen SR5 Double Cab/Short Bed 4x4 with the 3.5L, automatic.

Bought it new in late October 2017......drove it the first 4,700 miles and then made the changes.

Here is a copy of an older post I put in the performance sound clip thread. Cellphone video is very poor quality....doesn't really capture the sound well.

It's basically just a throatier sound than the factory.

One thing I'll say about whatever tip you put on....it will change color over time. Mine started out nice, black and shiny.

It develops into a matte look after a while....which I believe I prefer.

An annual touch up with some black grill paint may be in order.

I've really enjoyed the new sound. It's aggressive and gives it the deeper growl I was looking for. No resemblance to the "pissed off bumblebee" sound I was worried it may have.

    I'm very pleased.

My iPhone thus far hasn't been the greatest in capturing the sound, but I guess you can get an idea.

Here's a video from this morning. Getting onto the interstate. Windows up. XM radio on the news at volume level of 14.

The entrance road is roughly surfaced. Running the factory Destination LE tires for the time being.

Accelerated down the ramp hitting 72mph and engaged the cruise control. AT transmission on this model gets "shifty" when the cruise control is in use and rolling hills are encountered.

Been a few weeks now.....and I"m loving this Flowmaster enhancement to my truck.

Was grilling out the other day....wife rolled up in driveway.....had the music blasting, suds poured in a glass and talking to a buddy on the phone making fun plans for the week.

She'd had a hard day at work.....and I believe a bit jealous over my total enjoyment being had on my first afternoon after crushing my own workweek. Can't help it if other folks don't know how to chill & grill and relax. Their problem.....don't be trying to make it mine. Work hard, play hard and enjoy life is my motto.

Asked her to hold my phone and catch me fire it up and hit a rev or two. Her muttered comments at the end of the video said it all about her pissy mood that day, lol. All turned out well, though.....she loved what I'd cooked for dinner and finally got over her tense day.

    https://youtu.be/oQEwBxVJLME

Just washed her......then had to goof around some.

Crank....idle until smooth then a few revs.

    EDIT:

here it is now....some 4,000+ miles later

I like the RBP one better @polloloco81 & it’s cheaper than the TRD tip

has anybody have a bigger exhaust tip than the OEM one? I'm looking to add one maybe something with 3.5 inlet and 4.5 outlet @DubfromGA @polloloco81

OP, you should consider whistle tips. Bub Rub and Lil' Sis are a reputable source for them.

@DubfromGA hows the drone with the 44? I put a 40 series on and it sounds good but terrible drone around 65 mph
