Duly noted on what not to do, haha. That thing looks beat! So far, mine's holding up well. I put an aluminum sub frame in it to help keep it's shape.

RCI sliders are good too. They offer a 20 degree and a 5 degree (better step).

I'd do them both at the same time with up to 3" lift max. The pizza cutters you mentioned should fit under a 2" lift.

I just switched from E load to C load and liking the improved ride and better gas mileage. Unless you are doing lots of rock crawling or heavy hauling constantly the e load is over kill imo. I did see duratracs in c load...looks and actual use case is a balancing act

Lift doesn't allow you to fit tires. It just changes the static height of the truck. You should be able to fit 255s with minimal trimming of the mud flaps, maybe fender a little

I’m gonna be in need of “steps” for the new 4Runner. Fact he offers the lowest priced 4Runner sliders makes that 20% deal even better

Have you brought it to the dealer yet? We were doing 4runners years ago even though they weren’t under recall. Then they ran out of frames. I’ve talked to a few guys from other dealers that have done FJ Cruisers before. If I think about it I can ask our FTS next time I talk to him.

Start of them. Didn’t get as far as I wanted today. Drilling that many holes with a battery powered drill was not fun. Was going to try and get them welded up before takeover but it’s looking like I may tow the 4runner down instead.

Purely out of curiosity, would a toytec lift from a third gen fit my truck?

Thanks that would be much appreciated. I'll have to swing by the dealer I take the wife's 5th gen T4R to and see what they say. I wouldn't argue against a new frame that's for sure. But I'm also not hopeful.

It should. You talking like the Toytec Bilstein setup or their Boss Kit? You’ll see more lift on the 2nd gen vs the 3rd, so if it’s preset for 2” on a 3rd you’ll see almost 3”

Given that we're in NE and frame rust may (will) be an issue in the future, I'd be very hesitant to weld to the frame. Some dealers might be cool with it, others may blame the slides for the rust. I'd go bolt on. I had thought about sliders, but realized I'd never be in an off-road situation I'd need them (at least not until the truck is 20 years old).

Yes and no. The stock 3G suspension lifts the front of a 2G roughly 0.75". I thought I'd have an easier time selling my stock stuff than I did. However, my 2G Pro suspension on my 3G gives me almost the same lift as it did on a 2G.

That’s the adjustable coilover kit so you should be good. @MikeyMcFly kind of answered it above to. But everything bolts right in might just have to adjust it slightly for you rig

Yes a smallish hole in my frame. Pass side, just aft of the front control arm where it turns down is a maybe 3"x3" hole on the bottom of the frame. Presumably from the stupid AC drain that vents to that area.

I'll probably swing by the dealer first for kicks, but I'm not hopeful there.

Let me know how you make out. Sounds like an easily accessible spot too in case you need to patch it.

All depends on the dealer. We always take pictures and email the powers that be to let them decide, even if we know it won’t get approved.
