I will fall into this category once I have a driveway to park in. Garage in the condo isn't deep enough to have the gated version.

The new high clearance rear can be ordered with the provisions for a gate, and then the gate ordered separately later on :D :boink:

I like the idea of less stress on the single hinge, tire and two 5 gal fuel cans is a lot.

Personally, I think it looks better with a dual swing out.

1: less stress on the pivot point (hinge) while open and less stress on the locking point (latch) when closed and off-road

2: Backup clearance when getting into the bed of the truck. Imagine this: getting groceries on Sunday. You have to open the swingout to openthe tailgate to stow your nom-noms. A single swing out requires a lot more room to fully open to allow you drop the tailgate.
Then imagine the same scenario but you’ve parallel parked. You’d most like have to pull out of the parking spot just to open the swing out to open the tailgate to get your kid’s teddy bear of whatever the fuck is back there. Congrats: Opening the tailgate has now become a chore.

    3: Aesthetics.

I have two quotes for powdercoating in DFW from two different places... both are currently cheaper that what the difference between coated and non coated run from Pelfrey. So we are good there.

I have sent exact numbers to @Naveronski since he will be my DFW contact more than likely and both places we can ship the bumpers directly too... I have a feeling we will go with one place over the other as the price difference is much greater and they seem to do a lot more of this type of work.

Sooooo yea... that is about it...

Saving on shipping and saving on powder by having bumpers shipped together and coated together... what more do we want? We would just need to figure out a way to get it from the powder place to a house to install...
