I have heard about that issue with Fox here. I was thinking ADS or Icons. Still doing some research.

I will be in Oahu on Friday. Any recommendations for taking the kids snorkling? Or any other cool things to do while there. Its always good to get some insight from the locals.

As much as I hate what haunauma bay has become, it's a great place for kids to see fish and get their first snorkeling experience.

I had the stick, had hardware problems within a week. I've had Sling for 2 yrs now, wanted the fire stick so I could use my Amazon Prime to watch movies too. I ended up with the top of line Roku through Sling and couldn't be happier, has Amazon app for my Prime videos
    edit:
and use SmartDNS to place me in LA to get FOX and NBC, those are blocked in Hawaii market

I have smart TVs, so I get prime and Netflix apps right on the TV. I'm looking for something that can watch regular local TV and news also. All we watch these days is news, cartoon channel, discovery/HGTV/history etc. looking to lose spectrum cable, and just pay for internet. Prices for internet and cable are getting crazy.

I pay Spectrum $30/month for internet and Sling $25/month for TV Blue package. During football season I add Orange package for $40/month total to get ESPNs and +$5 for Sports Extras, which adds ESPN U and ACC network (Clemson Alum). NFL Network comes with Blue, Sports Extras adds NFL RedZone

I would look into Hulu TV. Can watch live TV or a lot of the shows have past episodes and seasons. I believe they have a free trial available. Only downsides I’ve found are that it doesn’t work through my Samsung smartTV app (the smartTV app only lets me watch the regular Hulu garbage so I use the Xbox one app) and you can only change the login zip code 2 or 3 times a year (prevents you from sharing with distant family and using while traveling often).

How do you feel navigating Hulu’s interface? I tried it, seemed to take lot longer than Sling. I tried out a bunch of the services a few months back, I recall DirecTV flowing the best but the prices was double what I was use to paying. I think whoever comes up with the best flowing interface, get me to my next channel quickest, will win majority in the end.

And I wish Roku offered customized remotes- I want a PLEX button at the bottom with my Sling button

@hacklerjason has some custom cut drill bits that go through almost everything. That’s how I installed my skid.

I have a digital antenna... get all the local stations and a few more... may need to find the right one, but you should be able to get one.

Edit: depending on where you are, you should be able to get at least 6 local stations.. not a ton, but at least it’s a one time antenna but... I haven’t paid for TV in years.. (other than Amazon prime)

Anyone build sliders on Oahu? If not, damn shame- great opportunity. I had seen a guy post pics of his personal sliders in progress, looked great. I asked him to build me a pair, but he was well over what I could pay someone from mainland to ship.
