I think my AC is about to crap out. It doesn't seem to be blowing as hard or as cool and it's taking forever to cool the truck down. (Like half an hour. At highway speeds.)

I've never been impressed with the AC and even checked the freon a few months back - it was good - but AC in a black truck in South Texas is necessary. (Heat exhaustion/stroke is a thing. Having portable AC is the difference between sitting in the truck for a bit to recover and a trip to the hospital)

Any suggestions? I saw a thread about our AC system sucking, I'll have to dive into that one a bit more and see what the AC gurus have to say. Do your AC's beat the heat or are they a little lackluster?

Can't answer for your gen, but for the 3rd gen the A/C seems to have no issues, but I tend to keep the house warmer then most people that I talk to so I may not notice things the same as others...

I am fairly used to the heat, I work outside about 80% of the day. But that truck is an oven. Easily 120*+ in there with tinted windows, a sunshade, parked with the least exposure, and I'll even try to point the windshield North if I can.

If you set your AC to max, how long do you think it takes before the interior is below 80*?

Well I never set it to max, but approx 20 min before I'm turning down the fan.

Lucky! Mine is on max and recirculate for nearly every drive this summer just to keep from sweating. Longer drives of 45 mins or so and I can take it down to 75%.

Apparently there's a TSB out for this exact issue.

I really need to take my truck in for a TSB check. I get the squeaky kazoo window noise too...

I have the kazoo sound as well, but I have just ignored it. As far as TSB's that is an out of pocket expense now so I will just ignore it unless I need to deal with it.

Really? Toyota put out a TSB for the headlights on my '11 and replaced them for free. Brand new headlights on a truck with 110k miles made the thing look new again too :D

Interesting and had a feeling you were gonna tell me that. There is an issue with the 3rd gens and the tripometer reseting, not a big deal but can be annoying and it happens very randomly. Well I told the dealer about it and they said, well the truck is out of warranty and it will cost this much to replace....Nope... Personally I think they are getting tired of me telling them things about the 3rd gen that they say is not the case until they look it up and go...

@LostHusker - That sucks that they wouldn't fix your trip meter. Sure, it's not a critical component but it sure is a handy tool.
