Yep, mine too. I had mine in the original package for 4 months in my garage before installing them and when we took them out the shock body was already oxidized.

Well this sucks. Everyone has seemed stoked on these things until a couple days ago. Which is when I ordered mine. Hoping no regrets.

Thanks to Headstrong as well. Mine will be here Thursday.

They didnt pre-treat them with BLO before installation. A big missed step.

Almost went with the 6112’s. Pretty stoked i ordered these. Not that you can even get the 6112’s yet from being backordered.

I’m getting ready to purchase a set of extended travel w/res for my first gen but have a question for you guys.

I understand that ADS come with #650 coils. My truck is a V6 with 4wd, no armor at the moment but I plan on adding skids and sliders in the very near future. With just skids and sliders, would that be enough to justify running #650 cools, or would I be better off stepping down to #600?

I’d probably drop down to 600 lb coils.

FWIW, I went with 700lb coils with an aluminum front bumper, winch and sliders and its ridden fine for now. I am adding skids here in a couple days though. Of course you have a 1st gen, so I don't really have any experience with those.

600 on a first gen seems to be a good coil size 650 tends to be firmer plus some people have a harder time not getting a lot of lift with most of the preload removed. If yours is an ext cab or a manual that will also make it lighter too. Now if you ever do decide to add on a bumper and/or winch in the future you can always swap the coils out then.

    Great info.

So for the fat trucks that are running ARBs, 8k winch, 1/4" skids, and dual batteries :spy: you reccomend 650lb coils to maintain around 2.5" of lift? Without preloading the heck out of them.

    Not much stock left.
You would be fine with 650’s, but I would do 700’s. Especially, if you remove the sway bar, and why wouldn’t you?

The 700’s will give a little stiffer ride, which helps with the body roll. After about a week you’ll wonder why you didn’t remove your sway bar sooner.

700s are unnecessary for 1st gens.
