Damn bear was back again last night... Woke me up around 1 am. Turned over the deck box again (only has Tiki torch fuel in it), and I found my trash can about 20 feet from where it was, and he managed to get 2 bungees off of it, and had my trash strewn in my driveway... Sigh... I may need to take drastic measures, but would hate to shoot him, after all he's only looking for food...

Another thought is a paintball gun... Maybe a couple paint balls in the ass would discourage him... (And I think I'll use pink paint for the added em-bear-ass-ment factor)

 

Don't shoot him! Do you have motion sensor lights? That's worked to scare them off for my family down in the valley.

 

Yep one destroyed our bird feeders again and I had a bag of trash in the front yard and one in the woods.

 

Yes. All over the property. They don't bother him at all.

 

Damn! This is one persistent bear. I can ask them what else they have done.

I know they also had to build an enclosure for their trash cans.

 

I am considering an enclosure, but it could either need have a bottom as well, or be damn heavy to keep him from just turning it over.

 

Theirs is basically a wooden fence with a roof and a gate sunk into the ground.
