What kind of camping are you looking for? A campground or just a spot to pitch a tent? There are many many many options for each in middle tn.

 

Either is fine. Primitive camping is great, my girlfriend with a rogue will be following so we are limiting to just dirt roads to get to camp. Outside of that, I'm open for either!

 

Lots of options at land between the lakes. But that’s NW of Nashville on the KY border.

 

Black Mountain

 

Assuming you’re going to be rolling down I40, you be within minutes of tons of camping. Near Nashville, starting east moving west...

On Center hill lake is long branch, floating mill, Edgar Evans. (Hour from Nashville)

Cedars of Lebanon (30 min from Nashville)

Cedar creek on old hickory lake (20 mins)

Seven points, Anderson road, and long hunter on Percy priest lake. (15 mins)

All of those are campgrounds. Make reservations on recreation.gov. There is primitive camping available too, but you’ll have to call to get the details on that.

 

Old mill campground. Owners are super nice and facilities are great.

This. Two beers of your choice, eye protection, and a floor jack.

 

If you come any further east (Knoxville) I can give you some intel

 

For rear springs?
Maybe can do it but seems like compressor would help.

 

Oh..... never done rear springs like that..... so I'm no help

I've used parts store rental compressors a couple times. Seems sketchy, but haven't had a problem yet.
