    Quick semi-relevant-but-not-really question:

Do the 2016-2017 Off Road grills have a place to mount the TSS? You know, in the event that a person might want to go silver instead of black.

Cause this is just sooo beautiful thank you @customcargrills it slid perfect into a slot on the bottom then I just added some M1 on the edges to seal and now it’s on good ain’t moving no where. I like the look of this compared to the stock garnish to me that one classy spot on the front just throws off the entire truck and that’s only on the new 18s while the 16s and 17s don’t have that problem. To me I love the look. With the raptor lights my grille is complete :bananadance:

Are you using a 2018 grill with a different garnish piece? I love the TRD Pro grill but hate the shiny garnish.

Yes and no lol. I’m using the TRD Pro grill for the 3rd gens but instead of using the ugly oem garnish piece that goes in the front and creates a large shiny surface, I got a small 3”x3” or so piece of black plastic from @customcargrills and that fit perfectly into a space in front of where the sensor gets mounted from the back. But I could tell that with some off-road and even vibrations it will rattle but won’t come out so to solve that, I added superglue to hold it then wedged it into a groove on the bottom where it sat perfectly for the sensor then I sealed the edges with M1 roofing glue from work which is heat and weather resistant so that piece ain’t going anywhere for the life’s of that grille lol. I’ll post a close up pic of the plastic piece when I get a chance to take a photo.

Awesome thank you. I actually removed the TRD Pro grill I bought because I hated the way the sensor garnish looks. I might have to try your solution.

Ahh I managed to find some pics I took just Incase I wanted to do a write up lol but here. I’m not sure you can try shoot @customcargrills to see if they have any more plastic pieces laying around, but you should definately give your pro grille a try again maybe install some raptor leds?? :bananadance: But anyways the plastic piece they sent me seems to be a type of tinted black plexiglass like material I’m sure it’s similar to the oem one, just had to peel
The protective coating on both sides then it fit perfectly into the gap in the back of the grille where you can see the bottom space between the front of the grille and the back was just enough for the piece to wedge in there and actually hold it down pretty sturdy. I just added reinforced glue for precautions and less worry.

That looks pretty easy. Now I just need to track down a 2017 sensor cover.

So far so good! And the sensor definately works lol I’ve used cruise control already for over a 100mile trip and it also worked when this old lady did a sudden stop when she realized she almost passed her street and thank god my truck alerted me about a car length or two away and started to brake before I had a chance to react. Definately loving this truck!

I'll be installing the piece you sent me this weekend as time permits. I'll feed back to you if it resolves the situation. Thanks again for the piece you sent!

Just got my OEM installed with the sensor insert. Totally was not expecting the star lock nuts that hold it in place. I guess I didn't read each thread well enough, so I didn't order that part number. I needed to drive last night so I took some silicone calking and dabbed both stubs. The silicone hardened in place of the star lock nuts but can be easily peeled off when I find some lock nuts. Any suggestions on what size to go buy from the hardware store? I am assuming there's also a Toyota part number floating around somewhere on the forum.

Installed an ebay grill (linked from this forum) and did the "ghetto garnish" using a bit of translucent tupperware top cut to size. Cruise control doesn't work and there is the warning light. When I attempt to use cruise, it says "clean sensor". I'm going to mess with it a bit then probably order the oem garnish.

edit: removed the insert and it works so garnish on order

@customcargrills you guys should fine tune the piece of plastic you sent me maybe just shave the edges and include some glue and that would be a cheap alternative for people that have the sensors but don’t want the ugly shiny garnish in the front sticking out from the rest of the grille. So far mines works flawless and no problems at all and I’ve been running mines all week.

Ok, I've got it installed, 5 minutes total time to remove grill, remove the first plastic piece installed, install the new piece and reinstall the grill. Test drive had zero errors...time will tell.
