motel 6 is also good, cheap and gets the job done. if you guys need camping gear ive got lots of extras as well and happy to lend out. anything from tents to sleeping bags, and lots of fishing gear.

What’s wrong with the truck?

 

not sure exactly, replaced the cv axles and took her upto laurel lakes road and all was good until i got back to pavement. now when turning im hearing a singular popping sound when i turn which i think is my ball joints going out or maybe my shocks. honestly not sure yet. i just bought the truck about 3 weeks ago and broke her in yesterday and i think all the bouncing around revealed some more stuff but im working to get it fixed asap. just a bit new to the truck scene so lots of researching as we speak.

 

maybe something based on throwing it into 4 wheel and bringing back to 2wheel revealed something i didnt notice.. not sure. getting it checked out wednesday and will have whatever parts i need on order asap to ensure i can join in on the fun

looks like a few places for rent at sherwin villas where i work. killer spot very accomadating. check it out

 

They look good and reasonably priced.

 

its pretty beat up now.. but im sure most will make it.

 

rememeber if your going to fish its barbless artificial meaning no bait lures and flys only with crimped barbs and strictly catch and release. tough fishing there but epic area and below the lake in the meadow area lots of camping and easy access with better creek fishing

 

im there quite often fishing the lake and cruising out there hiking and snowboarding.. pick up lots of junk left by hikers, campers, and junk from 4 wheeling. sad but true.. one of the few beautiful spots you can drive to in mammoth.

 

im in for 7/20 weekend and 7/27 as i live up here and should have those days off. also game for fishing, hiking, climbing, and all the fun activities up here.

 

@bigbarlo this guys has a ton of knowledge. And he knows where the good fishing spots are.

 

some local goldens caught very close by in mammoth(yet far)ish

 

I know a few good spots. Barbless flys, catch and release though.

 

I’ll be heading out there on the weekend of 7/20 as well. Looking forward to meeting you guys. As far as mountain biking, will any of you bring your bikes and do you guys know of any good trails?

 

I ended up having a conflict on 7/20 (niece’s wedding) so moved my plans and now planning for 7/27. Looking forward to some natural beauty, relaxation and meeting some new TW friends on this trip.

 

Id be interested in some local climbing near mammoth... other than Owens gorge and Bishop I don't know of anything.

 

Is every spot up there barbless flys only?
