I'm ordering 6112/5160 with Med Dakar setup. What clip settings should I be going with to give a factory type rake with Med. Dakars out back? I'm hoping for 2" lift. Did you go with bumping the driver side clip up one or set that same and use 1/4" spacer? Talked to Rogue Offroad and they recommend spacer. Headstrong said either/or(?)

6/5 setting will give you 2” of lift.

The thread below is where you will find all the info on the setup.

I'd thought I had read through that whole post, but guess I missed those pages..thanks! The Dakar's are suppose to provide 2" on 3rd gen, so either the 4th or 5th position should work ok, with the truck having a Leer Cap, sliders and some aluminum skids. I'm going even setting on the 6112's with a 1/4" spacer on driver side.

Highly suggest the 6/5 setting. 4/5 only gives 1.5” of lift trust me I know cuz I readjusted mine To the higher setting. If your adding all that weight...why didn’t you get the Heavy leaf pack?

Currently how my truck sits and I’m usinf a 3leaf aal

Dakar heavy pack states for 600lb constant weight. I'm not that heavy and this is my daily driver. My topper is about 200lbs, sliders 120-140'ish, bed mat 25lbs. I'm thinking I'm not hauling enough 90% of the time to warrant the HD Dakars(?) Weekend hunting/camping trips I'd be up there, but not the majority of the time.

If I add more weight I can always add another leaf(?) Opinions welcomes on this...

Heres another rig (this is forum member jholc21 rig) with 6112/5160's set at 4/5 with the Med Dakar's out back. Like stated setting 5 with 1/4's driver side spacer should net out about 2", then the Dakar's out back will add 2", so at 4 with spacer would net 1.5" and still have close to factory rake with the Dakars(?) I want a little rake unloaded. My order hasn't shipped yet, so I can still change things up with Headstrong.

If your planning a bumper or winch up front add a 650lb spring before it’s to late. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. And don’t be surprised if you get more lift than expected. The 6/5 setting gave me 2.5” at first. Once I added the sliders (140lbs) the suspension settled and now it a little under 2.25” lift.

With the 3 leafs aal with the overload out with a full take of gas, about 150-200lb of gear and a full tank of water in my waterport. I lose about .5” of lift In the rear. It leave me with about .25” of rake. If I had to do it again I would have left my overload leaf in or invested in a heavy leaf pack.

I just ordered mine tonight. I have DCLB and had mine set for the 5th notch. I ordered the medium Dakar’s out back. Right now I’m setting at just a tad bit of rake like 1/4” or so. I also added 1/4” drivers spacer for lean. I went back and fourth between 4th and 5th notch. I hope I made the right decision.

Mine should be shipped today tomorrow. I also went 5th notch and will put 1/4" spacer on drivers side. Ended up ordering the Heavy Dakar setup, after reading a ton of posts. Like suggested, I can always take a leaf out, but think this should out great. I'm going to get a rear hitch motorcycle carrier to haul my bike around, so the Heavy will help with that, just hope the unloaded ride is not too firm.

I’ve been kicking a lift around for probably a year or more. I went with the medium Dakar’s I figured I could always add the other leaf. I hope they work ok when I pull my camper. Everything I ordered is beefier than stock and it does fine stock. I may have to adjust my weight distribution hitch a bit lower. We will see I guess.

Bilstein 6112 front suspension with SPC uppers, 1 inch differential drop down kit, 1/4” drivers side lean spacer, Moog lower control arms with greasable can/caster hardware, mavo-tech sway bar links/ bushings. 265/75 BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T tires.
I thought there was only five notches on the 6112’s. I’m about to put them on my 2007 Tacoma and the ones I have only have five notches. What is the six notch you guys are talking about is it for the third generation Tacoma’s?

How did it turn out? I am about to have 6112s and 5160s installed on my 2015. My shop keeps telling me to not add any leafs just yet, but I dont want to look stupid.

2nd gen 6112 have 5 settings. 3rd gen have 6. The 6th setting is actually a lower setting to keep stock height.
    I actually have 2nd gen 6112s on clip 3 on my 3rd gen. Same as 4th clip on 3rd gen 6112s. I got 1-1/4”.

I got more than 3” at top setting on the 6112. (3rd gen)
A little concerned with the UCA angle and cv angle.

thinking of dropping back down to 4

I thought setting 3 gave you 1.5-2” lift. 6/5 sounds insanely high?

3rd gen 6112 6/5 will net you 2” lift once everything settles out. Spring rate will add some extra lift depending on armor etc.

I'm second guessing myself, could use some advice both front and rear. Ordered mine preassembled on 5/4. I don't need a whole lot of lift and I'd like to maintain enough rake so that it sits level with...oh let's say 700 ish pounds of weight on the rear (towing plus bed cargo).

The rear set arrived this weekend, so I put it on. 3pack AAL, and for funsies I put the overload in there too. Empty she rides stiff, as was expected. I put the trailer on (350-400-ish tongue weight) and a short ride around the block still felt fairly solid.

    Two questions:

    A) does anyone have experience running heavy on the 3 AAL and no overload? How's it sit? I'd rather run stiff empty than slam the bump stops when loaded, but I don't know how hard the 5160s will slam down. The stock Hitachis really sucked at hitting the bumpstops unless I ran a helper device.

    B) this is how she sits now, 3AAL plus overload on rear, fronts are still in the mail. :anonymous: Should I stick with my original gut instinct of 5/4 up front, or should I have it reset to 4/3 before even installing?

End goal is to improve the quality of ride over a highly variable weight range (towing and unloaded), lift height doesn't matter to me one bit. With that in mind, what's the advice, 5/4 up front with overload in rear, or 4/3 up front and delete the rear overload?

Alright gents I have 3rd gen 22 I’m buying 6112 and 5160 with Bilstein UCA. I’m also putting on leer 100r camper shell on the bed I need clip setting for the front to make the truck sit level. Also would I need a aal I don’t see why I would need it. I’ve been looking around but can’t find a thread that specifically states the leveling for 6112. Also This is the closest thread I found to what I’m asking.

off topic but do y’all recommend installing the clam shell from ECGS for Durability reasons I will only be running 265/70r17 wildpeaks with that being said I don’t think you would need it but I like the durability and one and done aspect of it. love y’all’s opinions good or bad fire away.
