After 2.5 years I finally tested the power window obstacle feature. Wife put fingers in the window at the same time I was closing it. With my finger on the up switch it dropped back down when it touched her fingers. Dammit. I mean great. It was purely an accident. Really. It was. Next test will be her looking out to see if a tire is low.

    Spare Tire Hoist Removal

In preparation for mounting my water tank, I decided to remove the spare tire hoist so it can sit flush to the crossmembers.

Next on my list is to remove the Spare Tire Brackets that are welded onto the Crossmembers. I think I’m going to tackle this tomorrow. Plan is to just cut them straight across so it has a flush finish.

If anyone has any other suggestions for removing those brackets, let me know.

So...what are the biggest tires you can fit on that golf cart with stock suspension?

In the Navy we use CRES (corrosion resistant steel) on all our bolts/washers etc. It's probably a bit more expensive, but you can't beat that stuff. It's probably a version of stainless steel. I'd look for maritime or marine grade bolts or something like that and I'm sure you'd be good to go for all the corrosion resistance you could want.

CRES 316 to be exact if anyone is interested.

That's exactly the one I want, logo and all. I always need quarters for something. Can't wait until they're available again.

    Edit, sorry for double post.

Blackout on the Mirror Knob - Thanks to @rrentrop

Well I used an extra push start circle that I was sent and I ended up taking it off of the transparent tape very carefully and then applied it over the mirror knob, slowly stretching it all the way around the knob. Then I used an exacto knife to cut it to the exact shape and size. Turned out pretty damn good if you ask me. I love it.

Did you trim the old panel while still in the truck?

That’s how I installed my seat heater switches as well. Just removed my stereo and climate control area. Then just reached behind and you are right there.

This is essentially grade 316 stainless, but with DOD specs.

316 stainless is the most corrosion resistant of the stainless grade and is usually used in food service, wastewater and maritime/salt water applications. It's also the most expensive stainless.
