    I used to crew AMA super bike back in the late '80s and we flat out abused rental cars on race tracks. And not just our team either.

    But my favorite rental car story comes from when the wife and I were driving back home from our second honeymoon in an old FJ40 I had and were passed by a car carrier with heaps of rental cars loaded with Hawaii plates. Being an ass I promptly said to my wife, "Wow, Hawaii. Bet that guys been pulling that load forever." she started in extolling how good that driver must be and how hard they have it and so on and so forth. I chuckled internally for four hours every time in amazement she'd think of some other awesome statement extolling the professionalism of that driver. That's right, it took her four hours to realize that you can't drive to the mainland from Hawaii and that I was full of shit. It took almost a year for me to live that down but my favorite brother in law brings it up every thanksgiving.
